Imperator Rome: Missing UI Text

I'm trying to play Imperator Rome on a 2015 MacBook Pro and when it runs all the text appears over the top of each other in the top-lefthand corner and all the UI text boxes are empty.

I've searched all the forums and can't find a way to fix it. Has anyone else encountered this problem/found a solution?
 
I'm already helping you in a Zendesk ticket on this.
