I have played Russia in the Grand Campaign (Huvudkampanjen). I have several times had missions in the mission list that are completely impossible to achieve like:

* Build a Naval base in Enkan (the tax base is not large enough even with all
improvements built and several thousand inhabitants).

* Discover Lake Eire (I can not see how any of the great lakes can be discovered as you cannot get ports in the adjoining coastal provinces).

And yes, I played on a too easy difficulty, but it seems much too easy too annex countries militarily. One war to annex China, another to annex Japan etc.

But whatever the complaints, I like this game...

Your post doesn't tell if you found this out but I know it took some hours for me to do so. :)

When you're done with one mission you can press 'info' instead of 'done' and you'll be able to choose a mission that fits you better, for example to hold a certain province for another five years.

I think 'info' is unlogical. 'New mission' would be better.

But you also get esay as heck missions like 'keep such and such a province in the middle of your empire'

The first thing you should do when the game starts is to choose 1-3 missions, complete them and choose new ones in it's stead. In a 300year campain you easily get 1500+ VP if you have 3 good missions running at all times. It's probably the only way to win over Spain (in a VP game) without actually having to attack Spain and beat the crap out of it.
You only get 'random' missions if you do not currently have any ongoing for your country (and it usually ain't the best one ...)
