Ok so for the past 31ish years I've been trying to improve my capital, my castellan (14 steward) is there improving, but so far I've got 2 events about failure but with no success. Is it broken or do I just have terrible luck.

I've improved my castles a lot of time (I really love this mod), it has only failed ones for me

What does improve holding really do? After all hours I've put in to this mod I have never used that action because everytime i press the button every province on the map is greyed out?
I've done both.
It increases the size of your castle you need to be improving a castle to use.

In order to use this feature, you need to build the Improve Castle upgrade in the holding, and then place your Castellan in the same province. Having him do the action on his own does nothing.
You can't place him if you don't have the improce castle upgrade, I thought, and of course I have the improve castle up there it hasn't worked in 100 years.
I only build the castle towns and the buildings needed to build them. I don't level them that much anyway.
