Ein chinesischer Meinung :

Hi,guys.I'm a Chinese player(a commie chinese one precisely  ).Well, i'm not new here though never posted before.Uh...writing in English is not a easy work for me, you know. But these days , i found out that many people here are concerned about the poor situation of HOI in my country so i decide to complete my registration(i forgot to activiate the account several times :p ) and introduce some details. So yes, this is my first post and i'm not happy it's about such a topic.

HOI has been long played in China and has not many but really enthusiastic players. Since the release of an unofficial Chinese version several weeks ago, the number of fans has exploded, there's more and more discussions in BBS and i don't feel lonely any more( i started playing some half a year ago when only 1.04 English verison is available). But sadly, i guess the translation work is why it's forbidden because now finally those officials in "culture" department can make out what HOI is about!

In spite of this, players are not affected much IMO, although a major BBSabout the game(who made the Chinese version) indeed change its main subject to CK and VIC(wish it not the next). Essentially HOI has never been formally published in China! How a department of government can ban a illegal pirate is another problem confused me.I mean, does a pirate software still need to be baned specifically? And here i have to confess that i'm not using a copyright version.
I downloaded it from the internet. You can blame me for that. This is another reason i'm reluctant to join the forum 'cause i do feel guilty. People around are all using pirates so we get used to it. But after i enjoyed more and more fun of HOI i no longer take it for granted. I'm very very sorry for this and i guess many players in China has similar feelings like me.

At last, i want to say, the problem is not that serious. Players in China have all been accustomed to the "periodically banning of games". Like somebody put it,"those officials must get something to do!". And they ban it, we play it. Anyway it's not a law. It's just some ridiculous BAAAAning.

I guess they don't understand what you mean by suck .

I agree that it's unfair for HOI getting forbidden. Although it doesn't feel good to hear such comments from foreigners, i guess you're right about the history. And most of Chinese know that the WW2 of China is not a glory part of Chinese history. It's just some of them don't have the courage or willingness to face it. Maybe it's someone's way of showing their national pride? I can understand them a bit but i don't like the measures they take.

Well, i read again the news(in Chinese) and it seems that a journalist wrote a report about HOI and interviewed several guys who accused the game of providing possibilities of invading China using Tojo, of wrongly introducing the three Facist regimes(i don't quite follow this), and of hurting people's feeling by reflecting that period of history(include the Tibet and Taiwan thing, whatever). While the first two are not very reasonable, i found the third excuse makes some sense, after talking about the whole stuff with some elder people. This game maybe do hurt somebody.

To foreigners and some Chinese young people(like me), history is just history, but to someone else, it's not. For those whose parents got beheaded by Japanese katana(recall the recent tragedy in Iraq happened to that poor Italian), whose wives and girls were raped and killed cruelly, whose babies were thrusted through by a bayonet, it's a miserable memory rather than history. Yes, these people now are all about 80 or so, but they have familes and children. For them, WW2 is not a funny and exciting topic, not great generals playing wargames. It's too heavy to be a game.

So i guess maybe it's similar with the Holocaust thing. This is not and will never be included in the game, right? Even though i don't think there'll be many Israels play HOI as germany(or even play it).At the same time, there IS a Nanking Massacre event, although Japanese army did no worse than their German counterpart at atrocities. What do you expect when a victim offspring see this event happen? "Wow, i'll lose 30 manpower"? where 1 manpower represent 10,000 civilian's lives!
So,um...,here i wanna say, don't be too critical with my country(today i met enough mocks and abuses and i feel ashamed of the government),or at least Chinese people. They don't care independence or puppet or something like that, they just have relatives to yearn. I guess the war in China are not widely known in the West, but they do have same feelings like any European victims.

Und ich reg mich schon über die Indizierung mancher Spiele hier auf, gut das ich nich in China Lebe, da wär ich ja nur noch Wütend :D
