So i was having a bunch of ideas if it could be applied if possible..

Basically i want an in game Universe which is filled with all kinds of strange and alien places. You could have one area were your Long range sensors or Deep space sensors cannot penetrate and you would need to research costlier late game sensors or make do with sensors with limited scanning area to explore the area. Which could be basically used in hiding your forces or enemy hiding theirs.

There could be Areas in the game were armor and hull components disintegrate easily and you would need shields to go through those areas of space. Maybe such areas could be filled with rare resources other items to make the exploration interesting..

There could be other areas in the game where shield don't work and vice versa. So basically what i am hoping for is not a normal space. But areas of space which could be possibly dangerous and exciting to explore. Early game exploration must be filled with dangers and uncertainty.

Maybe some of these areas of space could have worm holes connecting one points on a map to another possibly make it a strategic place to control. I don't know how simple are hard these is to create but i know it would be interesting...

Oh and one more thing, i did not want to make a new thread for this. But i believe building Capital ships and other Huge ships should be both expensive and Time consuming. I believe loosing ships, especially capital ships should cost you and not make you go "Oh well, ill just build another one". Possibly one way could be to make those huge shipyards expensive to build so your empire can only be able to afford a handful of them...
