Okay so... anyone else noticed how... deathly silent the domes are?
Once I'm satisfied I can take time to observe things without the colony being a bit "Help!", I'll set my camera down in a dome and watch my people go about their lives, I've come to notice the only audio I hear is the fountain and nursery.

No other building produces any sound and the domes and gardens have no ambience to them, either with ambient lighting etc. Even the Geodome has no ambient water sounds for the simulated beach.

There's no sound of people talking or the clattering of plates, glasses, bottles, the basketballs etc etc.

And it's kinda... creepy. Frankly It dosn't phase me much when I have a dome full of biorobots for some reason but when there are Humans on the dome I find it increasingly unsettling. I know it's a minor issue, like super minor, but has anyone else noticed this?

I've played with the soundtrack off altogether and the entire game gets eerie to be honest.

Just the monotonous, ghostly clanks of machinery echoing through the thin atmosphere. I'm pretty sure the OST was supposed to make up for a lot of the shortcomings in incidental sound effects. The OST being as good as it is however, it's also hard to care.

Yeah I tend to play with music disabled by default anyway, Generally it's only been Skylines and Mars I've kept the radio on, but there are times, 8 out of 10, I'll turn it off because I get bored of hearing it. When out of the dome, The lack of some audio does not bother me to a degree. What does bother me is the lack of environmental sound, wind etc. The planet still has an atmosphere so you'd hear something beyond disasters etc. But when you have a planet that has no life on it, you expect a certain level of silence.

But in general the in-dome lack of sound its... weird. Humans are not generally a quiet bunch. And some of the traits in it usually make real people less than quiet.

I'd admit I haven't stopped and listened, but I have noticed that mods screw up the sound. I think that's a completely different issue than what you all are saying. It'd be nice to have more background noise inside domes. Farms with sprinklers, diners with background chatter, HHHHHHHMMMMMMMmmmmmmmMMMmmmms from the science lab, sleeping sounds at night...
