looking for help here.
clean (per edmons instructions) install of 1.4

modtek 6.1

all mods that good be updated haven been

at first i was getting a crash to desktop when i entered contract room
figured out it was the Random Travel contracts mod.
deleted and was able to enter contract room and now i just get infinite loading circle of death

tried removing all other mods that had anything at all to do with contracts..no joy.

modtek.log shows nothing wrong at all.

this happens for new games and old

any ideas, help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
Ok, first off as of the latest version Modtech and the Battletech Mod loader have been combined into a single install. Getting in installed has changed from edmonds video. (I'll pester him to update!) Several folks have gotten this WRONG.. (I didn't.. I've been a computer and electronic tech for ohhh feel like centuries or at least the mid 1970's. I've a nasty habit of reading the fine manual.. I know I know, old bad habit...)

So BTML is simply dropped into its own folder off the Mods folder and run from its install location and NOT dropped into the resources folder.

Yank everything, and just do a reinstall.. patch it up etcetera.. then make the Mods folder, drop BTML in and run per usual from its new location.. (at this point, if you have the room on your hard drive Copy the Battletech install elsewhere. Don't zip it or anything, just make a copy.. if you mod alot, you will break it.. a lot. Just a convenient time saver!)
Drop the other mods your going to and NOTE most mods for version 1.2 and earlier may going to be a little flaky here and there. I've all of the Colo mech cept the clan chassis, the SDLF divisions pack, JK mechs and vehicles etc. Pilot quirks, pilot moral (I love to see pilot ejects out of their trashed ride..) But anything beyond star league era weapons, and primitive tech as of yet I'm not a big fan of. SOme may feel different, but Battletech the computer game needs to do a lot of growing before clan tech in incorporated. Maybe in a year of two. Right now ever its way to OP..

The error you described has the feel of something messed up at a basic level and that's why I suspect you erred on the Modtech/BTML install because it HAS changed with the latest version. Especially when you said you'd followed Edmonds video which just became out of date as of 3-4 days ago with ModTek-0.6.1 and BTML-v0.7.0

Darn Modders going and making Edmond have ta redo his stuff..! We Wuv our Edmond!
 
damd, forgot to note this.. the current newest is Modtech 0.7.0.. It solves a lot of small issues

where is this all i find is 6.1 on github which is what i have
 
so thanks to @Xeryx of the XAI for showing me the way.

seems making modtek load all mods that use .dll files last makes a HUGE difference.
also re-injected modtek for good measure.

so everything is better now got contracts on new and old once again.
 
Yay.. ok so.. now someone asked me this impossible question...

Ya know at my age when something works you stop worrying about it, don;t remember anything about and it, and wander off to the next problem to solve. I know I should take notes but I'm lazy
