no I think what he means is 'what does infrastructure give benefit reachign level 6 and level 7 alevel 8 and so on. Is it useful to invest into infrastructure research if you don't need these damn manufacuring buildings :eek:)
Does infrastruc levels really give you an increase in taxes each level ?
 
Well that is one of the things that 'irritate' me about the manual, that it doesnt state what effects the different techs have. Some techlevels give a certain 'bonus effect' (like monopoly, wharfs or exploration) but the ones inbetween seem meaningless unless one looks in the DB files.
Infra.cvs implies that the production efficiency of the provinces rise from a Base of 20 to 100 (Supa powa !) from level 0 to 10 (max) in Infrastructure. trade.cvs implies the same for Trade tech. That is all well, as th pop-up states that 'Our provinces/merchants are now more efficient'.

But (as always)
The Land.cvs and naval.cvs certanly has more interesting stuff in them... that is *alot* of variables that modify troopstrength and efficiency as well as stuff like 'add +2% to cavalry shock' (land level 15) and 'reduce Wind Gauge and fires. limits boarding but increase morale' (naval level 31).

These modifiers would have a greater impact if the player was aware of them, as in postponing a war until you get a tech that may give you an advantage against a certain type of troops.

BTW, messing with these files probably will get you into alot of trouble. ;)

It would be helpful if in the Bonus Effect area in the message that pops up when you reach a new level of land or sea tech, you are given information on these extra little tidbits. I recently discovered tech 31 for sea, but didn't get information that said it limits boarding but increases morale. I did get this sort of information when I reached only certain milestones, such as the ability of navies to explore the shoreline.
