Hello all,

I just purchase CK (along with DV) and I am trying to navigate the learning curve...I started a game as Sweden and fairly early on a I changed my inheritance law from elective to one of the salic (can't remember which one) laws. A few months later one (maybe more) of my vassals asked that I change the inheritance law back to elective. If I denied his request the vassal (or vassals) would gain the trait "rebellious", which I didn't feel like dealing with, so I changed the law back to elective. Immediately all my vassal's loyalty dropped to 0-10 and about half of them declared war on me.

Was this precipitous drop related to me caving in to my vassals demand or was it the result of changing the inheritance law? What are the restriction on changing inheritance laws (and other laws)? There has to be something, it would be kind of silly if I could willy-nilly change laws every week.

Thanks in advance.

Changing your inheritance-law will result in a loyalty drop of 50% for all your vassals. It doesn't matter if you do it because they 'ask' you to do it with an event or if you change it through the interface.

There's also the timer for how soon you can change the inheritance law again (I assume events don't care about this), how long is that, 20 years?

But yeah... rebellious isn't as bad as -50% loyalty for all your vasals.
