"Initializing game..." Crash

Description​

I was playing comfortably until 4 days ago. For the past 4 days, I haven't been able to play the game (Xbox) due to this issue except yesterday (Yesterday, I tried to record the screen to report this error, and the game that wouldn't open actually opened.) I start the game, and then the 'initialize game' part takes about 4-5 minutes. After that, the game's menu music starts playing, but I'm still stuck on the 'initializing game' screen. About 30 seconds later, the game crashes, and a crash reporter pops up. It's such a weird error that even the crash reporter doesn't work properly.

Steps to reproduce​

1)open xbox
2)launch ck3
3)paradox launcher opening
4)click play button
5)wait nearly 20 second black screen
6)initializing game screen opening 4-5 minute
7)it's starting to freeze
8)crashed
9)Crash reporter opened

This worked for me and we are in similar situations
1. Uninstall Game/App (CK3) / Delete All PDX Launcher Files C:\Users\???\Documents\Paradox Interactive C:\Users\???\AppData\Roaming\Paradox Interactive

1. Sign out of Xbox App

2. Go to https://account.live.com/consent/Manage Find the CK3 app and click the Edit button. On the next page click "Remove These Permissions".

3. Re-Install Crusader Kings 3

4. Launch the app, it should ask if you grant permission for the app to access your Xbox data. Deny access or Just close the Sign in box.

5. You will get 2 Pop-ups one for loading PDX Launcher and one for CK3 (I'm not sure which one of these causes the problem but the cloud saves are the problem)

6. Go to the Game/app settings and connect Xbox. Now it should ask you if you want to use Cloud Data or Local Data. Choose Local Data.

Ohh god thank you for the help. It worked for me too, but I didn't sync the data so I can't play online. Will this problem occur again when I sync the data?
Short answer Yes, basically I've been in contact with xbox support, they are going to contact me in 48-72 hours (basically today or tomorrow)
They told me there is no option to disable cloud save as of now, I told them i want to save ALL my games on my local drive not the cloud, since the cloud has limited space for users. I was told they could delete all my save file data and apparently put my suggestion through to the xbox gaming something something. IMO this cloud save function is literally useless if not a chore at that.


But if you hate the long load times/corrupt saves I'd play offline till a permanent fix comes out regarding cloud saving.

also the main reason this happened to me was a mod i installed, the save file i made must've synced to the cloud, when i unistalled the mod and tried to play i was getting instantly loaded into my old saves, trying to load mod data that wasn't there. so this is all down to out of date and or old modded saves. since we have no option to change our CK3 Version to use old save files we need to delete our cloud data or just keep unlinking it and playing offline ; (

5) If you want to play online, log in in the game. If you sync the data and log in when it asks for permissions, it crashes again, but if you log in when you come to the main menu in the game, you can play online.
