Install patch: fail

I've installed the game then I tried install the v1.01 patch but my machine gave me this 'billet-doux'.
(The update couldn't be installed because the game couldn't be found.)
I really dont know what would be the problem. Help! Thanks!

Patch to 1.04 instead of 1.01. No need for the inbetween steps, AFAIK, just 1.04.

same problem ..patch doesnt find game

Hello I am having the same problem,, I have been trying to install patch 104, and i get the message game not found , please install game first...
I downloaded from gamersgate.... Ihave other paradox games so Ive tried maling copies of victoria in other locations and other paradox files .. nothing seems to work.. ugh this is frustrating... can anyone help me?..
why is it not recognizing i have the game installed?

If one downloads from Gamersgate, isn't the patch 1.04 already included in the download? Meaning it would already be installed?

From what I read the patch does ,,my game doesnt do.., so It doesnt come from gamers gate with patch... Of course when i bought hoi the patch was on the gamersgate website so i downloaded directly from there... Is the patch looking for a particular folder ? Im not very tech savy ..... Can anyone Help me to figure this one out? Or is it a gamers gate issue? still tons of questions.. thx
