Hei,

Who can help me ? that's a cry.

My problem is that, last saturday, I decided to download EU to my computer. I put the CD-Rom, everythings went ok and I left to the kitchen, waiting that the game istall itself. Then after ten minutes, I went back to my room and saw that something was really wrong. In fact the DemoShield had gone mad and repeated itsef a dozen of times. Worse was that the game had been download only two percent. Of course, I decided to stop everythings, to take off the files already in and to begin again the install process. But I could not, Since last saturday, I am not able to install anymore this game to my computer because the autoplay (and the setup file) give me only - play, uninstall and Cancel. I sure believe that some parts of the game has been left inside the computer and I have try everything, believe me, even to format the hard disk used for the previous installation. The only thing that I know is the InstallShield program is on my C drive and I do not know why (but I have take off it to, but for nothing).
Who can help me ?

Thanks

Try this:-

You have to manually delete a key in your registry. You do that by starting regedit (Start => Run => regedit => Enter) and navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Paradox Entertainment" and delete the Europa Universalis key. It looks like a folder in regedit.(If you have applied more than one Patch then there might be more than one key).
If you are nervous about editing the Registry then get someone to do it for you. However if you only delete the above key(s) no harm will be done.

You also have to delete some installation files.

InstallShield creates a directory where it keeps all the information on installed software. On my machine it is 'C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information'

'InstallShield Installation Information' is marked as hidden so to be able to find it you have to change folder options on you PC to show hidden files. Search for files containing 'Europa' in this directory and you will find a file called 'setup.ini' with the following content:

[Startup]
AppName=Europa Universalis
Engine=0
Copy=1
Source=0
[Languages]
Default=0x0009
count=1
key0=0x0009

On my PC this resides in: 'C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{A6F1BDF7-53A7-4AF6-84B9-0C51C722BC91}'. I'm not sure if the last directory name will be the same on all machines but I think so. Delete that directory and you will be able to make a clean install.
