Well, as you can tell from the title, I cant install EU2.

My system is using Windows XP. I have always been able to play EU2, but I uninstalled it a while back, when I didnt think I would want to play it again (mistake). What happens is:

It installs perfectly, up till it reaches 13%, that is when it shuts down, and gives me a pop-up which says:

An I/O error has occoured. This may be caused by a corrupt installation file, or a bad installation media.

It is currently installing this file:
C...\...\units\bmp\t-army c-ven a-walk d-w\.bmp

(some of that may be incorrect)

PLEASE help me re-install my favorite game. :)

As the message says, you could in fact have a bad CD. Try installing on another machine that has never had EU2 on it. If that works, then your CD is OK but you may have remnants of your previous installation on your PC. Just completely delete the EU2 dir and all it contains, you should also check the registry for "paradox" or "universalis" and clean out anything you find in there.

I would instead suggest the following:
1) See if you can copy the entire contents of the CD to the HD. If you can then there is nothing wrong with the disk, just a problem with the Copy protection not liking your CD-rom drive, that is what it sounds like.
If you cannot copy it try cleaning it with a lint free cloth and some windex.

So I assume my you followed my advice and it worked?
Now you want to uninstall it but it will not auto uninstall?
In that case and you are trying to make space on your HD then the simplelest thing to do is just delete the folders.
