Installation Procedure

Ok, 1st let me tell you, this game is awesome! It is everything I dreamed of
when I used to play original HoI2.

2nd, I think a installation guide is needed. After reading the forums I now understand
importance of getting the install right before diving in.

So, let me start. And please respond if I missed anything.

I own original HoI2 CD and recently bought HoI Anthology CD.
For our purposes you will need HoI Anthology CD & digital download of Iron Cross.

I install under E:\Games\ (this may be substituted to your preference.)

Part 1 - Hearts of Iron 2

1) Install HoI2 (from HoI Ant. CD):
E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron 2
2) Run HoI2 and version should be v1.00 (CRWK)
3) You will need 4 files to continue. 2 from filefront, 2 from this forum.

4) You should now have:
hoi2_v1.3.exe (28.9MB)
hoi2_v1.3a.exe (30.4MB)
Hoi2-1.3b-AI-Update.rar (2.3MB)
ussr.txt (153KB)
5) Install hoi2_v1.3.exe
6) Run HoI2 and version should be v1.3 (SJLN)
7) Install hoi2_v1.3a.exe
8) Run HoI2 and version should be v1.3a (JLQC)
9) Unrar Hoi2-1.3b-AI-Update.rar in the E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron 2 directory
10) cut & paste ussr.txt into E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron 2\db\events
11) Run HoI2 - unfortunately, your version is still v1.3a (JLQC) even though you are now patched to v1.3b

Part 2 - Doomsday Expansion

1) Install DD Exp. into E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Doomsday
2) Run DD Exp. and version should be v1.0 (LADS)
3) You will need 1 file from this forum.

4) You should now have:
dd_13a.exe (17MB)
5) Install dd_13a.exe
6) Run DD Exp. and version should be v1.3a (JCJS)

Part 3 - Armegeddon
1) Copy E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Doomsday to E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\
giving you E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Copy of Doomsday
2) Rename Copy of Doomsday to Armageddon
giving you E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Armageddon
3) Install Armageddon into E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Armageddon
4) Run Armegeddon and version should be v1.0 (OMXG)
5) You will need 1 file from this forum.

6) You should now have:
HoI2DDArmageddonPatch1_2.exe (9.2MB)
7) Install HoI2DDArmageddonPatch1_2.exe
8) Run Armegeddon and version should be v1.2 (VBLV)

Important - You now have 3 games that work as they should, HoI2, DD Expansion, & Armageddon.

Part 4 - Iron Cross
1) Copy E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Armageddon to E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\
giving you E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Copy of Armageddon
2) Rename Copy of Armageddon to Iron Cross
giving you E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Iron Cross
3) Download Iron Cross from www.gamersgate.com
4) Install Iron Cross into E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Iron Cross
5) When given radio button choice - pick HoI2 Armageddon (1,152.8MB)
6) Run Iron Cross and version should be Doomsday Armageddon v1.2 (NKZB)
7) get updates from this forum
Iron Cross v1.01.exe (85MB)
rev3_ironcross_arma_101.zip (1.8MB)
8) Install Iron Cross v1.01.exe
9) Run Iron Cross and version should be Iron Cross Armageddon 1.01 (INIQ)
10) Unzip rev3_ironcross_arma_101.zip in E:\Games\Paradox Interactive\Iron Cross
11) That's it!

You now have 4 complete games installed.

Correct prodedure for Armageddon version:
- Install HOI2 Doomsday Armageddon
- Not sure if Anthology version of Armageddon includes the patch 1.2. This is the latest official patch, patch 1.3 is unnoficial and not supported by Iron cross. If Anthology do not include version 1.2 then Install patch 1.2 of Armageddon.
- Install Iron Cross
- Install patch 1.01 of iron cross
- Install rev3 if you want
