Installing beta patches?

I need help installing the beta patches for 1.08. Alas, the only instructions provided on the download page are: "Unzip this over your installation, if you know what you are doing." Thing is, I don't know what I'm doing- something of a hindrance in this situation.

Thus, two questions:

1) If I download and install the most recent beta patch, for 21 April 2005, does this include all the stuff from earlier patches, or do I have to install them all one by one?

2) How do I install a beta patch? Do I replace the files in the game folder with the files from an unzipped patch, or what?

Guidance would be welcome.

1/ just the latest is enough.

2/ your unzipper must be set to retain the original directory structure. You can unzip directly into the EU2 root directory (saying Yes to overwrite and Yes to write to read-only files), or into some other dir then move the file structure across in Win Explorer. As long as each file in the beta overwrites the matching existing file, it'll be OK.
