Ok guys, anyone in for this one??? I will be Emperor and storyteller, W need senators!!!! They can be generals, admirals, merchants, eclestial rulers or anything else!!! Once a year will political issues be discussed:generals, admirals , eclestials and prefects will be elected. There will also be elections for all kinds of political places. For now, the only thing you need to do is make a Roman looking name and post it here. The Empire needs you!!!

Bump!

Why does no one answer????

What should I do???

Just make up a Byzantine(latin or Greek) looking name, send it to me and wait a while until there are enough players (make some publicity for this please). I'll PM you as a confirmation. Also if you have ICQ and/or MSN send it to me please!

And just one more thing, you have too choose a profession (senate/army/navy/church), thanx!!

I'll join in, but cannot promise I'll be the most active of posters. RL and other stuff is taking up lots of my time. But I'll be in the Army, General Anexdopolos. Now could you post a definitve list of rules? So we know exactly what is expected?

Alright I see what you mean but could you tell me what each position does?like i know army conquers lands, navy explores, senate probably writes DOW's but what does church do?Also,my name will be Konstandinos STEPHANOPOULOS.For all u that dont know hes the leader of Greece:)

Actuallly the functions are mostly symbolic. The leader of all eclestial matters, the leader of all generals, the leader of all navies and the leader of the senate will be my personal council. They are the highest positions possible to attain. All people will be in senate so you could make senate more like merchant or nobility or something. The only thing is that as a general (or as admiral) your name will appear in the game (by changing leader files). So there are actually 4 ways to get in the advisory board. The nobility will probablly get provinces under their control as the Empire will grow. Generals and navy will be in-game too. Eclestial leaders will get their own bischoprics or something like that. The thing with areas is the generals decide about armies (they get budget appointed by senate) same for navies and their fleets. Eclestial leaders will be posiblle to influence state religion and stuff like that. While merchants and nobility will influence other stuff; but you'll find out all that when i'll send you the rules, OK???

So then, as a general, I may increase the army? Well, there is only the single army, so how exactly would this work. Already there are two people who want to be generals(me and Barkdreg). What you need to do is decide definitively what each function does. As a general, can I personally wage war? Or must i wait for the acceptance of the senate. And do I get land? Or Am i merely the man who leads the armies to glory?
I need clarification on this(sorry to be a pain in the butt, but it will make the game infinitely more enjoyable, i can assure you)

Count me in too.

I'll be Cruelus Maximus :D , a nobelman known for his incredibly harsh rule of Serbia and Bulgaria (or some of the other Byzantine provinces). Of course, I'd like to have join the senate, too.

See you around!

yeah i'll jump on the bandwagon Emp. dennis !
if u let me u have Patriarch Azrael of the Eastern Orthodox Church (da Byzantine equivalent of the Pope!)at your service, let us take Christianity back into the heathen lands and liberate the Holy City of Jerusalem from the Arab once and for all !

So here are the functions of each class:
General: commands army (will be in game too)
Captain: commands navy (will be in game too)
Exarch: clergy, has a say in diplomat sending and religious issues
Merchant: sends traders/budget
Nobleman: prefect of province, can change infrastructure

All players are in senate, the senate decides everything, how much money will be given to armies/navies, peace or war, money for traders, and so on.

The leader of each group (chosen by other group members) sists in the privvy council of the Emperor, they have huge influence on him.

So, this kindof about all of it. As you might have seen there is new class, so you can (if you want) still change your player class.
I also hope not all players will choose the same as it will be boring to have 20 generals all fighting to become THE advisor while there is 1 merchant without any competition. So I now add something: the maximum players for 1 class will be 10 for now. When all places are full (don't think this will happen) more will be allowed per class. The first ones to post their requeqt here will take the place. OK???

Oh yeah! You can not say: "i will be leader of all armies!" Or: "I will be patriarch!" You will be chosen to this position as you will be the representative of your class with the Emperor!
