Interbellum: 1917 - 1947

Interbellumbackground.jpg

Perhaps we continue the discussions for the Interbellum mod here?

For those of you who are wondering, the Interbellum mod spans the years 1917 - 1947, with the most changes being in the beginning (1917 - 1936). As of 1917 in this mod the Qing Empire still exists, albeit in a very unstable form. In Europe, the Great War rages on, and while things look bad for Germany, perhaps a more skilled leader can fix that? In Russia, the Russian Civil War looms ahead, and while a Bolshevik victory looks to be in the cards, perhaps the Whites can make a comeback and save the Romanovs from almost certain execution? And, when (and if) the Germans lose the war, Hitler coming to power is not certain - in fact, it is unlikely! Instead, communists may take over the Wiemar Republic, and embark on a mission to create a European Union! The Interbellum mod is currently under development, and any assistance would, of course, be appreciated.

General Information:
1. Start date: 1917. End Date: 1947
2. The First World War continues to be fought. In 1917, the war could have been won by either side.
3. Qing China still exists.

Completed/To Do List for v.1 (initial release):
1. Map (completed)
2. Tech Trees (completed)
3. OOBs (to do)
4. Events (to do)
  • 1. First world war events. Maybe we can get some from mod 1914? (completed)
  • Main storyline events. (Communist Germany, European Union)
  • Eastern Storyline (Japan, Qing China, and Russia)
5. Graphics (to do, low priority)

This was the mod chosen in Uzicbombardier's thread.

The Whites should have Crimea, Ukraine and Siberia I think. THe Reds should have everything between Moscow and St. Petersburg. America did not enter the war yet and Germany should have more troops in NE France, the Hindenburg line still exists

I'm working on the minister files...The civilian ones. I mean I don't have enough sources to make the chief of staff, army, navy or air force (for this late, I'm in trouble with Germany; they were only allowed to have one in 1935).

The flags also changed a lot. If someone could take care of it (ah, and please, remove this ahistorical flag for Greece!): http://www.worldstatesmen.org/

Well, in that case have it be an 'undistinguished suit' and no picture, as that position was not filled.

Does this start before or after the german michael offensive and are you planning a large peace event chain, because I think germany should have a choice in taking blame for the war, If the allies let germans have that choice.

Right now I have some problems with computers and it will took two days to fix it.
@ Rodrico Stak thank you very much for maps. Is there 1918 scenario in HoI1 TGW.

I think it will start before offensive.

If whites win, make that there's three chances in long run:

1) czar back to power
2) kerenskys semi-democratism
3) Kolchak's white dictatorship

If the michael offensive works and northern france is overrunn, will the war end cause germany shouldnt have to cross the channel, And for peace events if germans win, will austrian still breakapart. civilwar, yugoslavia? I think the state of slovnes and croats should have a chance to be sperate from serbia, and if yugoslavia comes about after a german win, it should get the austrian navy cause then italy wouldnt have the chance to destroy it.

You know we evil Germans love our Central staff (Generalstab) and even it was forbidden it survived in the Truppenamt (Commission for Armed Forces) which was de facto the central staff. This Truppenamt was also the seed for the new german general staff in WWII.

Their were following leaders (which were de facto the chiefs of staff):

Generalmajor Hans von Seeckt 1. October 1919- 26. March 1920
Generalmajor Wilhelm Heye 28. March 1920- February 1923
Generalmajor Otto Hasse February 1923- October 1925
Generalmajor Georg Wetzell October 1925- December 1926
Generalmajor Werner von Blomberg January 1927- 30. September 1929
Generalmajor Kurt Freiherr von Hammerstein-Equord 1. October 1929- 31. October 1930
Generalmajor Wilhelm Adam 1. October 1930- 30. September 1933

For the chiefs of Army/Navy there were also a Heeres- and Marineleitung (Administration of Army/Navy). If you wish I coul'd look for their leaders...
For Chief of Air force I would use simple some of the WWI heroes which contain their jobs in the Armed Forces of the Weimar Republic or the chiefs of staff to simulate the secret planning of a new Air Force.

Cheerio,

Le-Boehm

Mis brother Mikhaïl II. Or his son Alexei, who could have survived the slaughter of Iekaterinburg.
Perhaps the Whites can choose who they want to be their Czar if they chose for the Czars to come back to power. (actually I prefer the spelling Tsar, but I'll use Czar just to be consistent)
