I started out editing other people's Mods in an effort to learn Lua and game modding in general. This progressed into me bolting together several large Mods and adding significant new content to create a new comprehensive Mod "Long Play" that I am testing in early Beta.
The base code modifies several existing Mods from prolific coders such as ChoGGI, Silva, and Temaulin, as well as several others. It is a licensing nightmare that I do not know how to resolve properly, hence my pst here before uploading it. I have added fairly extensive edits of my own both in terms of entirely new code, plus reworking all mods towards a comprehensive new game arc.
I have only played half-way through to test, so it is very much early Beta and requires a lot more testing. There will certainly be some bugs and it will not play well with other Mods. Requires most of the DLC's.
Is it OK to upload a franekstein's monster such as this?
Is the community for such an old game still interested in seeing a new take?
If there is interest I may put in more time to polish it up as it needs a lot of final touches and code improvements.
Summary of the Mod:
I see this an an homage to all the DLC's and the biggest Mods that were built for this game. It takes a lot of familiar content that has been released haphazardly aver the years and reworks it all into one more streamlined giant experience.
Game arc is rebuilt to provide longer game play, deeper colony social aspects, and a more interesting end-game experience. The colony must start underground to escape the harsh(er) surface conditions, including radiation effects on colonists. As the surface becomes slowly more terraformed, it becomes possible to colonise the surface and expand. Experience a deeper connection to your colony members as your Society goes through various phases (all with gample implications), from Founding, to Devloping, Organising, and finally Established.
The Mod includes entirely reworked Tech trees, top to bottom including new techs, reworked techs, and a new Synergy Tech mechanic. The rework pushes the colony evolution in the new underground-then-up arc as well as reworking the order of terraforming and other progressions entirely. More tech is repeatable in various ways and the end-game has more options.
There are many new Buildings, and almost every building is reworked. You will need to restrategise and reevaluate a lot of what you know about how the buildings work and how to progress.
