Hey everyone!

Interesting read about strategy gaming at Gamasutra, enjoy!

The 4 biggest lessons from the year in strategy gaming:
"2012 was a godsend for those suffering from the strategy game itch. Everyone from the strategy veteran to the genre neophyte had a breathtaking library of new releases that all showcased the very best that strategy has to offer. Most surprising was that this came at a time when some were wondering whether strategy, specifically turn-based strategy was on the verge of becoming a dead genre on the level of point and click adventures (which, I must point out, are also somewhat on the rise again)."

That is an interesting read. I have two questions, open to the public...

1) What the heck does MOBA stand for?

2) Aren't things like League of Legends technically *Tactical* games, as opposed to Strategy?

Multiplayer online battle arena

Deepends on how you look at it, you have to build a strategy to every game as every game diffrent champs get picked and banned.

Games like DOTA are hardly Strategy games simply because you have to have a strategy to win/play. Else FPS games would also qualify.
