Hello,
I have noticed this strange thing going on with my Paradox games starting around December, 2021. It looks like having a connection to the internet significantly slows things down, even when I am playing single player games. I've noticed this in HoI4, Stellaris, Cities Skylines, and now CK3. It didn't used to be like this. Now, HoI4 in 1936 with an internet connection, plays like 1945 without. With an internet connection the fps regularly drops to around 10-15, whereas it is at 40-60 fps without internet at fastest in-game speed.
Now I have resorted to playing while on airplane mode with my laptop because the games are a pain to play with an internet connection. This makes achievement-hunting impossible though. Is anyone else noticing this, and more importantly is there a possible fix, other than disconnecting from the internet?
Thanks.
P.S. In case it is of any help: I have a Lenovo Legion 5, AMD Ryzen 7 4800H, RTX 2060, 16gb RAM, and use SSDs for storage.
