Download beta 6.27 here.
This Beta is now four days late. I'm getting well behind. I'm going to have to beg Laura for a full day off to write and code ...
Bughunting
-Increased province 547 to 1000 from 100 people.
-Removed references to Tambow in events for Russian culture/cores as it is not Russian.
-When the TO goes to war with the Hussites, I gave them +3 stab from the event to counter the -2 from the war command and no CB.
Housekeeping
Ukraine now begins as a vassal of the Horde and in an alliance with the Horde and Kiev, but has a dynastic alliance with Halych-Volhynia. H-V now begins in the alliance with Smolensk and Tver.
Revolt.txt
Added and changed revolters for the Cossack Hetmanate and removed Ukraine, which can now only be formed by the Cossack Hetmanate.
Added Danzig so that the events which create it actually work.
Miscellaneous
Added an event for the Samara province such that if owned by an othrodox state and the first gold event occurs, it can force migrate Russians there and convert the province to Russian culture and orthodox faith (gaining a +1RR permanently from disaffected Turcomen sunnis).
Asturias
Added generals, explorers and conquistadors and some ais to help guide them.
Bavaria
Added mikl's first round of post-crusade events, focusing on how Bavaria falls apart as a result of the lost crusade, (or gains outrageous benefits if successful!)
Increased the benefits for Bavaria going to war with the Hussites, to improve its chances or retaining emperorship before the cricitcal Crusade series.
Burgundy
Increased Burgundy's starting badboy to 8 and lowered its starting relations to -25 and -50 for most neighbours.
Cossack Hetmanate
Who? The former Ukriane now begins the game as the Cossack Hetmanate, a vassal of the Horde established by them in the 1370s prior to the Blue Khan's victory in the war which united the Golden Horde. This is a loose nation that inherits many of the events/monarch/leaders of the original Aberration Ukraine.
Added a new description for the Cossack Hetmanate, and modified all of the event triggers that effected UKR tag to now affect CHE as well, or instead, in files such as TO, Epo_Rus, Genoa, Golden Horde and others.
Downgraded the high quality of monarchs and leaders to something more in line with Interregnum standards and realism. Removed the insane number of monarchs, a new one each year for 300 years. Sorry, it's just too improbable. Even municipal councils could not function very well with a leadership change every single year.
The Cossack Hetmanate begins in the muslim tech group. Yes, really. Why should they be orthodox?
Depending on how well they are played, the political restructuring for the Cossacks can begin as early as the 1450s, but if it hasn't happened by the Hetmanship of Mykola Glinskyi, then it force-happens at that point. The end result of the various options are as follows: it forms Ruthenia prior to 1564, or after that it has the chance to become the Republic of Ukraine, changing to Ukrainian culture and changing most of its provinces to Ukrainian culture. It might chose (ai only, surely) to remain the Cossack Hetmanate, which represents a cultural failure.
Removed most of the cores events, which are rubbish, but as Ruthenia or Ukraine they can get cores, on Russian provinces. I'll think about expanding this to Settled or Nomadic Turcomen culture provinces.
Transformed some of the better Aberration events to work for Ruthenia and Ukraine as well, such as Arming the cavalry, the Roadnet, Ukrainian Law and some others.
Epochal_Russia
Removed the Finnish and Ukraine-specific events for gaining cores on Russia etc. There are now three identical events that grant the cores and Russian cultures, with the prereqesite being orthodox faith, no Boyar League, and five key Russian provinces. In this way, for example, Finland could gain all the cores and the culture, but then Ruthenia could sweep in and ALSO claim the Czarship of the Russians. Fun fun fun.
Golden Horde
Added five cores to the Golden Horde once the 1550s civil war has ended, assuming you back Jegur or Temur. If Jegur and the Blue Horde, cores are gained in the Vorones region, otherwise you gain cores un the Sibir/Uzbekh region and an explorer.
Halych-Volhynia
Altered the triggers for the formation of Ruthenia by H-V.
Holland, County of
Brought back the country of Holland (well, Mike's idea) which can be established by event from Bavaria or Burgundy if the crusade is a failure (or success) as a way of paying debts incurred. Gave it the HOL tag from the Reformed Provinces and gave Reformed Provinces HLL tag, changing all previous references.
Kiev
Added events for its reaction to the repression of Ruthenians, most likely that of also diving in against the Horde and joining with Ukraine.
Added the key event for it to form Ruthenia.
Added events for it to cede to Halych-Volhynia or the Cossack Hetmanate, should it be reduced to just Ukraina provine and, essentially, be under attack by the other state. It would put the accepting country at war with its counterpart, however.
Miscellaneous
Reworked some of the Gold province triggers and added one that was missing, Angara.
Added an event for Samara province if owned by an orthodox country which, once gold is discovered, can force migrate Russians to convert it to Russian culture and orthodox religion (with a revolt and +1 permanent RR from unhappy turcomen).
Papal States
New events by mikl focusing on the loss of Papal prestige from a failed or successful crusade, but th gaining of it from a failed crusade, at least over the Emperor.
The cycle of Humanism events that can ultimately lead to the election of Martin Luther as the Pope and the emergence of the Reformed Catholic Church. This sleeps the reformation as we know it, and will lead (when complete) to a counter reformation.
Altered the values and outcomes of the cycle of events for the Lateran Palace, Library and St Peter's basicila, which previously resulted in a Luxury manu, but which doesn't make sense as Rome gets one permanently. Instead, uppped the Infra values and gave them provincetax +1 at resolution.
Persia
Fixed the capitalmoving event so the text makes sense and only occurs if the CoT has been removed from Khorasan or Persia owns Khorasan. Added removecot command to the evnt creating the Ghengid Horde.
Ruthenia
Added the remaining triggered events for the formation of Ruthenia. Completed the monarch and leader files, added new ais and the explorer/conquistador events.
Eventually can gain cores throughout the Ruthenian and Russian provinces and all of the leaders for Ukraine, Cossack Hetmanate, Halych-Volhynia and Kiev.
Added events for the Cossack-started Ruthenia which somewhat mirror the events for the creation of Ukraine, with one direction meaning a strong Rada, the other the return of the Kiev princes.
Ukraine (Republic of)
Forms now from the Cossack Hetmanate (see above).
Ukraine forms from the Cossack Hetmanate in 1585 if by then you have failed to form Ruthenia. Upgrades to orthodox tech and gets generally better administration. Has many mirror events for Ruthenia and Cossacks derived from the original Ukraine event list.
Reworked the leader and monarch files and added conquistador and explorer events that match those of Ruthenia, but can only happen if Ruthenia does not exist.
There are some key things still missing. No real events in the east for Smolensk or Ryazan. I still need to think about the Turcomen cultures and whether or not the orthodox powers can get cores on them, and maybe gain the nomadic turcomen culture. I need to add more Boyar Demands type events for whichever states get the Czar of the Russians events. Ruthenia and Ukraine need some more late-game events related to peasnt revolts or power-sharing with the mercantile classes. So much more could be done ...
