This is a major upload, one which takes us a really big step toward releasing 1.0 . I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (no, it's not an oncoming train).

It leaves us with just three main jobs. The first is to add the standard reformation events for the german minors and for the Union of Kalmar. The second is to review the Union for Interregnum-ness and add the Explorer events and the final one is to add the anti-pope cycle. That, and a few little bits and pieces I've been meaning to add and adjust.

Thanks especially this week to mikl. Much ripe fruit from his hard labours.

Bughunting

Added the dormant = yes commands to the Ruthenian leaders file to prevent the game crashing when you form Ruthenia.

Changed the events, monarch dates and some of the numbers in the Savoy/Guyenne/French inheritance of Languedoc so that it works properly (hopefully.

Housekeeping

Removed the land bridges between Eire and Scotland and Kent and Calais.

Added Cymric (Welsh) and Sardinian cultures instead of using unique, as we have the spare cultures.

Bavaria

Many new key events from mikl, the Germania cycle, in which a new state outside the Holy Roman Empire is created, if Bavarians successful in the Crusade, or are a large enough state. Also revised Inquisition events and dutch revolt events, linking some to the Holland file. Revised their leaders to not be so goddam overwhelmingly good, and Albrecht der Weise's heir is now strong militarily but otherwise hopeless.

Added the conquistador and explorer events and many new ais for Bavaria.

Downgraded the unparalleled quality of Bavarian monarchs. I'd never really looked before. Scary and sickening!

Eire

Altered certain event triggers to account for Eire colonizing the Caribbean instead of Acadie.

Epochal_Iberian

More additions and changes from mikl, mostly revising existing events for added quality. Critically, added that the crusade sequence will kick off as long as Cordoba owns any of its mid-Iberian startring province. Thus, the crusade only doesn't happen if bavaria is already at war with Cordoba, Asturias exists or Cordoba has been smashed already.

Epochal_Religious

Clarifications to the protestant events, additional events for the reformation effects in bavaria and Papal States (I think) and the first of the new Reformation events for the non-Bavarian states, in this case Swabia. Others to follow.

Finland

Rebuilt many events, altering the text and the effects to Interregnum-ize them. The opening regent event now works differently. More significantly, rebuilt the rautakoura regency event sequences to be a little more logical and a little tougher as well. Also made Rautakoura a rebellion event if there is no Finland during that period (1618 to 1642).

Added the House of Nobles event and the Formation of the Neuvosto event, both of which begin the process of formalizing relationships in Finland and ill lead to some later (not written) ealry 'democracy' events. maybe an English-style civil war.

If Finland conquers Russia and gets Russian culture and cores, it drops to orthodox tech.

Added an event called the Lalaivu Doctrine in which Finland can opt to develop a policy and ships based on swift and manouverable vessels over those with firepower. If so, they gain the Lalaivu Elite units, which are 3/1/3 leaders until 1820.

Removed the Creation of a National Bank event and created a new random event for the same concept.

Added the explorer conquistador events and ais to help propel them.

Germania

Created from a crusade-winning Bavaria. Added the flag sets and duplicate events that come after 1510 from the bavarian file, the same leaders, monarchs etc.

Hansa

Some minor tweaking my mikl and MattyG.

Holland

Revised some links to Bavarian events and added tax increses to dutch provinces upon independence.

Mali

Added events for Morocco, Tlemcen, Egypt and Caliphate for the effects of Mansa Musas hajj and the profundity of gold he spends and gives out. Options to tax him for additional currentcy, but either way there are inflation hits.

Maya

Simplified the religious conversion event sequence but added in the chance for it to be sunni as well, depending on whether Cordoba converts to Mutazelism or not.

Removed the Otzimo Bank events in favour of the random event for a National Bank.

Miscellaneous

Added events for the 'random' gaining of Cymric, Armenian and Sardinian cultures (all the single-province cultures), based on many prerequisites, including same religion, not at war and a minimum date.

Province_Religion

Added the events for conversion of specific german culture provinces to protestant or reformed, asuming they are not owned by one of the german states.

Random Events

Created a new event called Creation of a National Bank, which can kick in earlier than the Private Bank events and can see ongoing related random events.

Sardinia

Added Sardinia as a revolter, which can only occur up until 1540.

Wales

Renamed to Cymru and changed all text references to Cymru from Wales.

Just love the mod...

Thanks again MattyG!

You are most welcome.

As are any suggestions you have for improving things!

Wow! I've only had a chance to play a few games of that last upload (and got my ass quickly handed to me as Burgundy three times in the last 24 hours--which was my only game for the better part of a month if not longer).. maybe I'll try Bavaria for th enew events this time around.

Cheers

I can't find it in the events section for some reason (I am tired) so can someone tell me the exact things needed for the crusade events to fire? I really really want to see them and never have. :(

The events are located in the Epochal Iberian file. We have been toying with the triggers, and we will probably alter them again soon. There are two main things that will prevent the crusade happening:

1. Bavaria already at war with Cordoba (which is a mistake, we need instead just to have an alternative version for if they are already at war); and

2. Bavaria is NOT the emperor, which we have done everything to prevent. But if you have been a really bad boy, this might not happen.

and...

3. Cordoba and the catholic iberians never go to war, thus ensuring that the PAP trigger never fires. I will be revising this.

I removed those conditions already, but we need to remove the sleepevent command from the peaceful option of that Cordoban opening event. Or do we?
