Download Beta 6.31
After a hiatus around Christmas and New Year and then a visit from my dad I have returned to 'work' here at Interregnum and have not been idle.
Thanks especially again this week to AhmedAA for his ongoing playtesting, bughunting and contribution to me of great ideas.
RADICAL CHANGE this beta in the form of the new approach to loansizes. Now all non pagan nations start at 70 ducats for loans, and these increase over time or as countrysize and infra go up. Is this great? Is this too much? Should it be restructured? You be the judges.
Bughunting
Removed the ferocity = yes from the initial Zapotec ai. Now they might actually want peace with the Maya.
Corrected triggers in the End of the Visconti event for Genoa.
Added Mameluke and Fatimid versions of the event for the Egypt region if the Mali king goes on his long hajj with lots of gold.
Removed the religious requirements from the Patriarch Denounces the caliph event that meant it would not fire for the Caliphate.
Added CB commands to the MAM file war commands to prevent unfair stab hits for forced wars.
Removed Tucoman from the Smallpox events as it is now a colonizable province, not part of the now-non-existant Inca.
Caliphates Caucasian Questions event now works for CAL instead of BYZ (he he he).
In the Civil war, there was a buggy situation with the events for the division of Egypt. Simplified the event structure and corrected the Revolt.txt file info.
Housekeeping
Occitania cannot now revolt if Languedoc exists, preventing the Languedoc player from releasing it as a vassal.
If Blue Horde or Astrakhan revolt they now also get the 'other' turcoman culture.
Sibir now also has nomadic turcomen culture and changed Kurgan, Kustanai, Tengiz and Ichim to nomadic turcomen culture.
Sudan ( province 750) is now Cotton instead of slaves and batn al Hajar has sugar instead of Ivory.
Caliphate and Mamelukes now both begin with trade agreements with Yemen and both guarentee its independence.
Alterted all of the starting loan size levels to 70, 50 for all pagan countries (long, boring job).
Bavaria
Nixed the Fuggers nd Colonialism events. Very old school, and the fuggers had no downside, just lots and lots of benefits.
Caliphate
Reduced the inflation hits from several events and rebuilt the commands for the revitalization of Persia. Instead of Caliphate getting +13 inflation through the course of the game, it now gets +7 (assuming you go for the paper Dirham).
Cordoba
Added war with Porto as a command if Cordoba choses the Jihad to Expand the Faith in their key opening event.
Altered the Hishram events to be a little less excellent.
Genoa
Genoa now no longer gets Greek culture for getting cosy with Byzantium (that was always a bit silly). Instead, they get a very early Refinery to represent the trade benefits the arrangement gives them.
Removed some of the beneficial extravagances for the Catalunyan cycle for both Genoa and Cordoba. Made the refinery event ai only.
Altered the Gold of the Aztecs event to make a little more sense and tie it to the events for inflation throughout Europe.
Added a new opening event Genoan Banking which is essentially there to set a bunch of flags to prevent random events from decreasing Genoans high starting loansize.
Epochal_Mutazelite
Altered the mutazelite events for the Magreb region so that action_a ensures they remain sunni and changed the commands to reflect the costs of this. Action_b no longer adds innovative +1.
Mamelukes
Conqest of the Zanj now confers Swahili cuture. Ahmed cogently argued that Swahili was, anyway, a mix of Arabic/Egyptian/African cultures so it is a quite natural fit. However, the event does work for any Islamic country. Added two actions for the event, with action_b focusing on slaves from the region and so denying you Swahili culture. Also, removed the cores for the interior provinces. Not Zanj at all.
Did the same for the Ethiopean event. Now gives Ethiopean culture, two actions etc.
For the event The Egyptian Renaissance I changed many of the commands especially thing like Innovative +4 (!). Also, the revoltrisk for action_b no longer last for 40 years, only 10.
There were problems with the Egyptian events for Yusuf and Amin, with triggering an date inconsistencies. Corrected these, and added Rabiya as a fill-in monarch in case Yusuf does not die.
Downgraded some of the EGY monarchs which had Aberration levels.
Miscellaneous
Added a cycle of events to represent the inflation crisis that came from the influx of gold from the new world, with inflation hits all round. Plus events for each of the European ( plus Bure and Armenia) gold provinces to reduce their value.
Implemented the Time/Infra/Countrysize based changes to loan sizes, making these events random and including them in both of the random event files.
Random_Events
The Indebted Nobility event now had less inflation and some of the revolt risks are altered.
See the forum thread on New Random Events for some more changes/ideas.
Scaled the costs of Boundary Dispute back, the most common random, to accommodate the new loan sizes.
