Could just someone port Interregnum 1.08 to FtG 1.2?
Thanks in advance.

Sure someone could do that. Why don´t you register your game and do it yourself?

There never was a detailed manual, somehow I was able to unbury this. I do not think there is much more anywhere, note that the two threads you already found are linked at the bottom of my post, so I am afraid these three are all there is to find.

If someone did the conversion I would be so grateful. I have no idea how to port versions, but Interregnum was my all time favourite EU2 mod. I have lost my EU2 CD otherwise I'd still be playing it.

ConjurerDragon the lawman, I do not want to register my game; is it suddenly mandatory? Let's relax a bit. :)

For access to the tech support sub forum registration is mandatory as far as I know.

ConjurerDragon, I have a registred copy of the game so maybe you'll see my advice: be less aggressive. If you do not know the answer to TheRipper69-PT's simple question just keep quite or say "I have not the necessary knowledge" (even if he did not ask you personally). A question could not be the answer to another question.
Regards.

P.S.: Blaster, you're 200% right.

Someone give me a working download link and I may port this mod to FtG, to repent for not registering. Porting would of course not include incorporating new features like personal unions but merely make the mod playable, which I assume it isn't.

Here you go! http://www.mediafire.com/?t6chpea5oeyhdif

I don't know if this is relevant to the conversion process, but the person who posted this link also said this:
You should be using the .bat file inside the Interregnum folder to run the mod anyway. Renaming my linked "Interregnum 1.09" to "Interregnum 1.08" has solved the problem for other people, so you're either doing it wrong or this is some completely new issue.
(The problem being referred to is an error that popped up when someone tried to run the game with the mod.)

Good luck! Would be fun to play this mod in FTG sometime.

I've begun porting and in fact I'm 80% done already. What's left is mostly resolving duplicated IDs and some other minor errors, gfx stuff, and converting province.csv to provinces.txt. The conversion csv->txt itself is quickly done, however it's been a while since the last time I did some EU2 map modding and the txt format is slightly changed from the csv format, so I need someone to answer these questions for me before I can start with the conversion:
  • In province.csv there are columns "Fill coord X" and "Fill coord Y" which every province has, but some provinces have more than one each. Do they correspond to anything in provinces.txt?
  • EU2 has a file straits.csv, what does it do?
  • What the hell is the "Pashas" column in province.csv?
Anything else I need to know? Converting is easy but making large-scale changes later is a pain in the ass.

(The sooner I get answers, the sooner you get Interregnum for FtG.)

I can't answer all of those questions, but here's some speculation:

Doesn't provinces.txt have several coordinates for buildings, units etc.? Maybe it's the same in provinces.txt?

Straits.csv probably corresponds to adj.defs in FTG, as that file seems to deal with straits in FTG.

No idea about Pashas. I think the creator of MyMap was called Agung Pasha, but that's the only EU2 connection I can find.

Lol yeah, I played MyMap to death before I discovered Watkabaoi. Agung Pasha indeed.

As far as I can see those have their own columns, e.g. City[XY]Pos, Army[XY]Pos, etc.

Straits.csv probably corresponds to adj.defs in FTG, as that file seems to deal with straits in FTG.
EU2 has its own adj-defs.csv, but come to think of it, there were some specific gfx to indicate straits, so I guess straits.csv lists the coordinates for those sprites. Not sure what to do with them, though?

Also, I see now that the following AI files are missing:
Code:
AlAndalus_france.ai
chagatai.ai
genoa_1590.ai
hansa_1710.ai
hussites.ai
Il-Khanate_Aggro.ai
jurchen.ai
Ming_colonizes.ai
ming_zhudi_military.ai
nordrige.ai
oman.ai
order_mehmed.ai
order_mercantile.ai
order_mustafa.ai
order_victory.ai
swabia.ai
trader.ai
york_ainsley.ai
york_carrington.ai
york_werribee.ai
Two of these (oman.ai and trader.ai) are in vanilla EU2, but the rest aren't. There were a couple of misspelled ai file references but I didn't include those; these are files that really aren't there. Anyone know what's going on here? Is there perhaps an older version that has these files?

I've looked pretty much everywhere, but I can't for the life of me track down a working download link for older versions of the mod. All links are either deleted or dead, I'm afraid.

Unless someone else happens to have an older version on hand, I'm afraid I have no clue where those files are - if indeed they ever existed.
