I had the introversion version of prison architect, does this mean that I now can't patch the game since they sold it to Paradox? Pls help

The only way to get updates now is by playing the Steam version of the game.
If you bought the game directly from IV Software, then you should have an e-mail order from sendowl. Go search for it. It should contain the Steam Key you can activate on Steam.

how do i get a key if i didn't purchase the game through introversion. i got my code through g2a
If you got the key that could be used on IV website and not an actual Steam key, then I am sorry to say that but there's no way you can get a Steam key without buying the game again.
G2A gets their keys from different sources and very often those are not keys provided directly by the devs.
I'd suggest you to wait for a sale and buy a legit copy from Steam store. PA goes on sale regularly and very often it's 50-75% off.

I have had cases of other grey market vendors providing Steam keys even so, Kinguin for one. As G2A pay so little for Steam keys they really should come to the party on this!
What do we do if SendOwl aren't sending keys?
Paradox/Introversion really screwed this up.
They should've email everyone their keys. Kind of basic.
I have an Introversion "license key" but it's not a Steam key. That should be enough for Paradox to compare against my introversion account and give me a key.

Contact the PDX support. They should be able to help you with the issue.
Paradox are not supplying Steam keys to anyone! The game purchase agreement included that the replacement Steam keys come from the original vendor.
If you bought directly from Introversion you would not have an Introversion key, so you must have bought it from some other vendor. That's why SendOwl is not working for you, they only handled direct sales from Introversion.
You need to approach your original vendor for that Steam key.
