I have been invaded and besieged by my "ally" (my heirs wife is his daughter and heir).
He declares himself independent from our common king. He walks across the border and besieges one of my counties.

Yes,WAD I know,I am technically at war with him. But it still seems silly, our common grandson will afterall inherit it later. And I am on his side, morally and cheering-wise at least :)

Maybe it would be possible to tweak it so "allies" on paper are less likely to battle when they can choose battles/sieges.
