I just discOvered this game and is absolutely fun! I'm playing Ireland, becomed King and now infiltrating my child in the Scottish Dinasty. Very nice the intrafamiliar Wars and intrafamiliar marriages, enjoying in all these dinastical dramas. I don't like easy game, I don't like conquest all. I like to discover you can excommunicate your first son to change inherit line, and have the New hier rival of that son causing a War between King of Ireland and Duke of Meath, peacing just leaving him with his title but again vassal ... He stilo have royal Blood! And just make him loyal marrying a female cousin 2nd grade fostered by hisself!

Thumb up!!!

Glad to hear you like the game. Playing an Irish duke or count and then trying to unite Ireland is one of most popular things to do in the game. :)

Veldmaarschalk, why d'you think that is? I'm not disagreeing with you, I've enjoyed playing in Ireland myself, just wondering why it's such a popular place in CK. :)

My guess is that carving out and creating your own new kingdom is popular; for instance I also like Sicily (at first I started as Apulia, but now I prefer the county of Reggio), Lithuania and in 1066 Portugal for the same reason. Obviously this is also true for the Crusader kingdoms in the Middle East and North Africa, but these can be more difficult; although with the kingdom of Jerusalem-event, it is possible to get that title relatively easy, but holding together that kingdom can be somewhat harder.

I think there are several reasons

1. You are playing a rather small confined area
2. The 3 duchies in Ireland in 1066 are pretty well balanced
3. And (just as Ruwaard said) you can create your own kingdom instead of starting in an existing one
