Hello Forumites

Irshappa wanted Iron Cross expansion as realistic as possible when developing the scenarios and live the game. We know that the player wants events, wish events, enjoy the events and the amount of chances you have to develop your game for making each game different from another.

Our team has always looked for historical accuracy, but allowing the player to take major decisions for his nation and the future of war. We have introduced thousands of new events, in fact, we have programmed so many of them that we do not even know how many there are in total, but we know that far surpassed the 6000 new events scheduled.

All countries will enjoy new events, with plenty of options and consequences for the decisions that the player is taking over the game.

In this way we achieve better explanation of the time context, the escalation of hostilities, the vision of every nation in the world, international relations and wars that marked the twentieth century.

Several events within the game, and a real screen in the game 2048x1536

We have programmed major events of the decade of 30's and 40's as well as minor events that also were part of the history.

From Italian and German rearmament, isolationism and the crisis in the U.S., France's internal problems, relationships and agreements between nations, the decolonization of the empire, internal revolutions, wars and peace among nations.

No detail or event is missing to show the history of the game era.

Irshappa also wanted not to forget the non-historical possibilities, and added events that could create an alternative story line.

About 7,000 events will take the player to a level of detail and realism never seen before

Lol IKEA and Liechtenstein.

So is this the Europe map you promised or are we going to see one that shows all of Europe? I want to see Finland. ;)

By the way Luxemburg is a little large... (so is Liechtenstein).

I'm really shocked in two ways. One is the enormous amount of events. I expected it since you said that there will be 6000 new events, but this is.... wonderful!
But in the other hand the new map... It has both advanteges and disadvantages but... it's ugly? How big Liechtenstein is? Why Albania is still made-up by two provinces when Northern Italy has a million? Why do Romania has so huge provinces when Bessarabia needs micro-management? What's the point in it? The same in the case of Ireland. Why there are areas made with detailed map and why there are ones with nearly the same as HoI2? If you tell me that Tannu Tuva has more than 2, I will go mad...
And as a hungarian I looked at my little homeland and... The Danube and The Tisza what are they? Some kind of defensive line for Yugoslavia? How do they look like? How will the first Vienna Dictat work?
And as Finland, I will need to defend two provinces at the south... But Denmark can conquer Malmo in the name of nationalism:D
And why do Switzerland have provinces than Austria?? Sorry guys, but it's not good:(

Looks really nice, love events.

Have you added new events commands as well? (If so are there any plans to share event commands between AOD/DH/IC)

Very nice, I love events ;) But can you even play one in-game day without having a new event?? ;)

Looking at the Soviet-border, the number of provinces seems to be ok. I think this should be handable. But we'll have to see :)

For the most part, it looks a very good, detailed map, but however, as I'm sure many will also point out, there are some glaring errors and inconsistencies.

First of all, especially in the case of Albania, western Romania and to a certain extent Poland and Austria, the size of the province seen in these areas are much bigger than provinces in surrounding areas, despite there being no lack of settlements and conurbations which potential provinces could be named after.

Second, there are a few areas, of which the national borders look rather dubious. My case in point would be around Upper Silesia, where there is a stark discrepancy between the borders portrayed on the map, and the actual 1930s borders. Certainly these types of areas could use a slice of due care and attention.

Finally, there are a few provinces where the name given to the province simply does not represent the actual area the province is situated in. Two instances I spotted immediately where Prague and Dortmund, where neither of the cities were in the province of the same name. On a related note there are also some provinces where their name may not strictly be wrong, but there would be names far better suited to it, for example the 'Beverley' province ought to be named 'Hull', and 'Erdinet' might be better named 'Cernovcy'

I cannot take away from he fact that you clearly have worked very hard on creating what already looks to be a very fascinating add-on to HoI2, but as with any game in development, there's always going to be a few thing that need fixing or correcting. I hope I've been helpful in pointing these thing out :).

I would prefer to see more E3 style geographyically pleasing map, but this is better then vanilla Hoi2 nevertheless. Icons look so-so, but maybe can be used to. Many events is great :D

Another thing that I could never understand: why are the icons changed all the time? each new game has its own ones.

Because computer artists want to work too? But yea, most of the mods want to have their own icons, so apparently, we still have long way to go to get perfect icons :)

Where's Finland's other arm?

Why does Estonia have a lot more provinces than before where as Finland only has a few new ones, despite the fact that Finland (esp. eastern Finland which is almost entirely unchanged!!) saw a lot more combat than Estonia ever did. Same goes for Denmark and especially Sweden!

No offense, but I think DH's map is 10x better.

EDIT: http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/5199/europe1936.jpg Pure awesomeness.

Hello,
We knew beforehand that some people would be critic with the representation of their countries on the map. The Finns with Finland, the Mexicans with Mexico ... and so on. We simply can not please everyone :)
What we have attempted is, first, create the actual provinces for most countries (though not all) and on the other hand, adding provinces where we thought it appropriate to provide more gameplay and battle options.

Of course we are willing to make changes in the map and for that we have your recommendations and comments. They're always welcome :)

Very soon we will open a thread in the forum to discuss the map, until then please do not use this thread to discuss the map, because this is the thread to discuss the events. Discussin the map here will ruin the events threat and is OT :)

To me IC map looks like Hoi2 map just on a new level - more provinces (though not in all places where they should be also increased, like indeed, Eastern Finland? Also, Albania did indeed had warfare, north of Scandinavia could be tricky for Lapland war), and more provinces is good and very good. However, E3 map and thus DH are going for realistic geography, which is great and pleasent to eye, however, the number of provinces is increased less and thus some war theaters will look somewhat bizzare.
