Is it possible to change your characters clothes and/or portrait background?

So, title pretty much. Playing a game as House Targaryen, but I'm getting kind of annoyed that my portrait background isn't always the Iron Throne. Similarly, I think some of the High Valyrian clothing options look much better than others, and would like to use those the most. Is there any way to do this?

Speaking of which, are is there an image with all the clothing options on it for comparison? Would be real handy to have something on hand.

I don't believe any of that is possible once the game starts, and from my experience (weird things happen with my comp, so this might not be true for anyone else) it's not even really possible to ensure your custom rulers will even have the background and clothes you pick in Ruler Designer. Sadly, Paradox must have figured that we'd only want to be able to change the hair and beards of characters and not the headgear or clothes. I've always wondered how I'm expected to use that on a guy without facial hair and not wonder how he could grow a majestic beard in a single day, but I can't trade in my character's crown for a helmet when going to war.

I'm pretty sure it can't be done in game yeah, but I had hoped there was at least a way to do it via modding or save file editing, if nothing else.

In theory, you could mod different character_flags into the portrait_properties.txt, and then create decisions that would grant you the flag, and thus change your clothes.
