Is the Steal Blueprint working as intended?

I did the mission to steal the aviation blueprints of UK. When it finished, I got the Basic Large Airframe, though I don't have the Inter-war one. So I was asking myself, if this is working as intended, because now I can research the Improved version, totally ignoring the Inter-war version.

Yep, it's working as intended. If it targets a tech that grants an equipment type, it ignores prerequisites and gives you the tech.

If it targets a tech that does not grant an equipment type, it does not ignore prerequisites but will give you a research bonus and ahead of time reduction if it targets a tech you don't meet the prerequisites for.

I just wish you could target the blueprints better instead of just vague 'industry' or 'air'.
