I've been playing an India game, and I've gotten the strong impression there is something wrong here. I consistently, stubbornly, see Jain and Buddhist rulers of Hindu territory convert to Hindu within decades. Meanwhile Hindu rulers of Buddhist territory just stay Hindu permanently.

I'm playing with the slowest conversion rates, making this extra noticeable. I've tried with no avail to prop up and support Buddhist/Jain rulers in Hindu territory. Even one who had a majority of Jain provinces just ended up moving their capital to a Hindu province and converting within a decade of coming of age (twice!).

I am strongly suspecting there is some kind of bug that is blocking conversion events away from Hindu and/or encouraging conversion to Hindu.

Anyone else have the same experience? Has anyone played an India game recently and not have Hindu become all but completely dominant?

It might even be a vanilla issue, but as I play CK+ I can't tell.

In general conversion chance in Plus is lower than in Vanilla. Seing this, it must mean it's done via special decision or event.
With the exception of trade routes, and using RoI events for other stuff Plus didn't change much about India itself.

There have recently been reports about RoI stuff not working properly, so someone will look into it.

Are you running clean Plus?

Yes, a clean Plus, latest version. With slowest conversion I meant I set the Game Rule Conversion Speed to the slowest setting (don't recall exactly what that was). I think this helped make it more noticeable that something was up, as otherwise it might seem like it's just Hindu rulers converting their countries before having a chance to convert themselves. I've noticed when tag switching that there are events for Dharmic converting barony-level title holders to the province religion, did not discover whether they fire for county and up as well.

Most noticeable is that whatever it is does not fire for child rulers. I've seen a child ruler stay Jain for 10+ years. Then upon becoming an adult converting to Hindu within the decade.

Events for Dharmic? To you remember a part of text of that event?

Something something [Baron Name] has converted to [Religion], it must be the work of local preachers.

Don't recall exactly, but it definitely mentions local preachers or something to that effect (not a court chaplain from a neighboring kingdom or anything like that).

Edit: let me browse my screenshot folder, hold on.

nah, that's not it, that's just character picking province religion.
Oh, k, then I confused that for something dharmic-specific related, since it never happened to me as a Christian ruler. I suspect there's something up with that decision then that makes it favour Hindu. Is there a religious authority component or something to that decision?
