I have been burned before by buying games on just watching youtube let's play's, and this game is different from what I normally play. Are there any plans for a demo?

There are not. But if you buy it from Steam or our webshop, you can try it for a period and get a refund if unsatisfied. Steam's refund limits are 2 weeks of ownership and 2 hours of playtime as shown in their client.
