Is there a way to increase text size in most games?

I don't know if this is the right forum, so mods move as appropriate.

I play on my 47" tv at 1920 x 1080 resolution. I sit kind of far away and so the text ends up being eye hurtingly small, especially on older games like Darkest Hour. This isn't just older games though, even CK2 has small side text. Vicky 2 seems to be the exception, all of it's text is fine.

So does an easy way to make the text bigger exist?

Basically, no. PDS games come with fixed, not scalable, text font sizes. Reducing the resolution is the only answer for you right now.

We've had fairly encouraging responses in the EU4 forum, I suggest you post in those threads for future games.

This is the biggest flaw in Paradox games in my opinion, they are made for people with old, low res monitors.
If EU4 doesn't have a readable scalable font, I won't buy it, as I won't be able to play it without getting a migraine trying to read the tiny messages.
They should have addressed this in the last engine.
