Really want to play modern day scenario, but I can't find any stable mod for the last version of the game. So is there any?
It's not exactly something that can be done. Whether purposefully or not, somebody gets hurt feelings for one aspect or another of the reality of the '90s and Paradox sends in the specialists to lock it down. At least, I think it's the '90s period that inflames tensions, but ModDB does contain some things that aren't in this forum. It would be nice to have a forum client elsewhere and I vowed to go cold turkey on discord.

Indeed, I feel it necessary to state the fungibility of the '90s period, that is, the dissolution of the Soviets, and how interesting that period can be, yet many things seem to hinge on ahistoricity, such as, prominently, Carter's f-ups in the ME, to the extant that for a truly "historical" (ya those are scare quotes, believe nothing of the mainstream XD) take of a mod in that period, to reenact the atrocities - these being the well-known alleged Armenian-Azerbaijan genocides and Serbian genocides - requires that someone have a lack of faith in producing what could be an intense gaming experience.

There really is no other game that quite makes my armholes reek of pheromone more-so than DH. That's a BIG compliment. XD

I have both the MDS (2003 start date) and Putin (2015) mods. They seem to work properly with 1.05, HOWEVER;

The original version of MDS that I have has some issues with the tech tree and at a certain point it crashes due to a specific technology. But I modded it to "fix" the technology issues I saw along the crashing thing. I could try to upload it in the coming days, can't promise an exact date.

About the Putin mod, the 1.05 version I have is based off from another version of it. Tbh that mod never came to be fully released, plenty of stuff is still a bit incomplete, some events are disorganized and it may feel a bit dated already despite not being that old haha.

Will try to upload both, but I can't promise it.

I'm old enough to remember the very short-lived ISIS mod. Not sure if it's still around on this forum.

Uber late response since I got distracted by real life things to deal with and just now I'm getting free again, but here it is, the link for the version of MDS I play with. (If I'm not mistaken).


Things I can remember about that mod version I uploaded:

1) I disabled one Strategic Bomber technology (well, not disable per se, but the tech requires itself to be able to research so, it's impossible to research it at all.) The reason is the new strategic bomber model caused the game to crash and I was unable to fix the crashing so my best solution was removing that technology.

2) On the technologies section there's one going a bit futuristic but I always noticed the mod kinda blocked off some technologies so I tried to unlock them the best way I could, I haven't noticed any issues with that but I haven't run many games nowadays so it would need to be checked by new players.

3) There might be a small releasable nation in the USA, just ignore it, remnants from my MDS AAR idea I had years ago. And about this, I'm not too sure but I could've changed some events AI_Chance percentage at some point. But I guess we all play sometimes with that in Mods, :p , but I repeat: I'm not too sure. Maybe I didn't or maybe I did, no way to know since last time I played MDS was a long time ago.

With all of that mentioned, I hope the mod properly works for you (and I hope I didn't upload the wrong version lmao)
