I had an awesome game as Dany going in the ACoK bookmark - I won the war with Astapar, Yunkai, and Meereen, but lost it all to the Yunkai, then journeyed to Pentos on the way to Westeros. I took the Iron Throne from King Renly, married Tonmen Lannister, defeated a revolt, used Dragon Conquest on King Brandon the Beggar King of the North (hysterical that he kept it even as LP), then Dragon-Conquested the whole world. Only the ruins are independent.

Anyways, I'm sitting in King's Landing, and have one son, Rhaegar Targaryen. At his 14th birthday I give him Dragonstone as he desires. Here's where it gets interesting, though.

He got the wrong side of the coin flip and is unfortunately a lunatic, but he's unfortunately the only Targaryen (Aegon "Young Griff" never materialized). Although he was raised as Faith of the Seven, he converts to the Old Gods on his 16th birthday and to the Drowned God on his 17th. Unfortunately, the crazy person decides that for his 18th birthday he would sacrifice himself to the Drowned God, leaving me heirless.

Dany is 48 years old. Is it hopeless? Must I be forced to sit on the world, accruing prestige, piety, and gathering titles with my 27k prestige. I do, FYI, have the Lustful and Hedonist traits.

Women become totally infertile at 45, so I'm afraid you are out of luck.

Thanks for the reply.

Well...that stinks. Oh well - maybe I'll switch to the Starks or somebody and join in the massive civil war that will inevitably result when Joffrey Lannister takes the throne after Dany's death.

TBH, that sounds like it was a pretty sweet play through... Although a bit unfortunate to end quite as early as it did.

I just started a new play through as Dany in the hopes of getting a lunatic heir/heiress with which to enjoy all the unique events and whatnot. So far it looks promising. But, in light of how your heir died, I am now a bit nervous about some sort of self-sacrifice taking place prior to my (Dany's) death.

Yeah pollinate console command is the only way out. It will made any character pregnant. But I think I remember people having issues using it with Dany, and the child turning out with really low health, so if you go that route, be sure to check the kid after birth and console some extra health if needed.

I'd have to agree with abockabq... It's probably he only way out. But make sure you save the game before attempting any tricks as it might do something unexpected...

thanks guys - I think I'm going to swap to one of the LPs when all is peaceful, console-kill Dany, let Joffrey inherit, and enjoy the chaos.

Final result (swapping to Lord Paramount Calon Stark, son of Brandon, Lord of the North):

With the death of Daenerys Targaryen, the realm shatters. Joffrey Lannister inherits the throne, but the Tyrells of the Reach rebel and become Kings of the Reach, before installing the Baratheon Lady Paramount of the Stormlands on the Iron Throne. Because I had been supporting Dany in a war when Joffrey inherited, I was technically his ally when the war began and unable to betray him in time........ultimately, the Queen tried to arrest me for treason, so I rebelled and declared myself King in the North (Note - in an ironic twist of fate, I had also inherited the Riverlands from Rickon Stark, who had inherited it from Edmure Tully).

Well.....turns out she was a dragon rider, and so I lost, as did the rebelling Kings on the Iron Throne and Dorne. The only place that is still independent is New Valyria, whose empire was inherited by Joffrey's son after Joff was executed.

All in all, an interesting game.
