When Playing Denmark in ISG I start out with Sweeden as a vasal, but it already times out 5 years later, so theres no chance I can anex them before that. So what is it good for?

What is the connection between anexing a vasal and the royal marriage? If the royal marriage times out before it is possibil to annex the vasal, is it then still possibil to get them?

Just a bit of historicity.. Sweden was a rather bad vassal, feeling that it should be an equal partner while Danish overlords considered it (quite rightly) a poor backwater.

So all it is good for is making you a few quick bucks of vassal taxes.

.

You only need a vassalage agreement to be able to annex. (And a common land border, and an alliance, and the vassalage must have lasted for at least 10 years, and current relations have to be 190+, and marryable religions and vassals not and war and.. well you get the point)

So RM is needed to get a vassal, but then it serves no further purpose.

And, in fact, the RM disappears upon vassalage, so that if the latter is broken, there's no marriage in effect and you have to start over from the begining.

Oh-ho.. I remembered it as that the RM remained, but you couldn't make any new ones when the first one expired.. ah well, it doesn't really matter :)
