Based on the 2-3 per 1 "rule" with provinces, how will the islands work, like in the med and the channel? What islands not in Eu2 need to be added? Will places like Cyprus, Crete, Corsica and Sardinia be divided up? What about Mallorca and Menorca? I don't know much in the way of the history, so you tell me what the deal might be in CK

Well I assume they'll use some common sense. If you look at the EU2 map, maybe "Brabant" needs broken up, but not "Malta". Lets be reasonable here. ;)

I think when they said "2-3 provinces for every EU province" they were just trying to give us an idea how many we're talking about, not literally tell us that every EU2 province will be broken up into 2 or 3.

And let's say it is; who exactly is going to be "Count of Northern Corsica"? :p. Some provinces dont need breaking down.

Another gripe with MTW...no Balearics, Baltic, or North Sea islands, but Malta is huge.

I'm particularly interested in how they'll restructure the Aegean....

me too -- several more islands need to be added to show the genoese as well as the venetian influence in the area; but subdividing islands like crete or cyprus doesn't really accomplish anything

You do have "kingdoms" on some islands like the Giudicati (Judgies) on Sardinia. I don't know which islands were "divided" though.

I hope Sicily plays a bigger role than in EU2. Just for fun, they could add Perijil as well;) :)

Sicliy sure changed hands enough times throughout history..I think it would be a pretty fun island to rule.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Do you have much information on who was active in the region in 1066?

What about the North Sea Islands, How many provinces (if more than one) will Iceland be? Will the Faeroes, Shetland and Hebridian isles be in as separate provinces?

They might all be filled with only fish and sheep.. but shall all be united in my North Sea Empire.. MUhaHA!

Iceland is definitely in. I believe I've seen references to the Faroes, the Orkneys and the Southern Isles (i.e. the Hebrides)...

...and Bornholm....*starts dreaming of Baltic sea empire ruled from his hometown*

Cyprus has Famagusta and Limassol and Nicosia as important cities (not sure if Nicosia was large back in CK times). So I could see Cyprus divided into at least 2 if not 3 provinces.:)

If not as three provinces, they certainly should be at least one province. Otherwise where will the Norse stage raids into Scotland from?:D

In the Aegean? It was all Byzantine until 1204.

Adriatic islands

What about a adriatic islands and coast, it was a place of conflict between Croatia, Venezia, Byzant and Hungary, a place with mixed culture in that time. Will Dalmazia be split in two? Cost and islands as one and behind mountain parts as second.

If bornholm is in i shouldnt both Öland, Gotland and Åland is in and probably two (one) of the estonian islands be in?
