Tibet Or Not Tibet

Hello,

I am trying to create a mod that deals with the liberation of Europe (in fact, I am trying to fix the New World Order event pack to work with 1.06c)

I thought about using the Partisans "nation" (TAG = REB) for several purposes.

For example, the uprising of Warsaw. There is no simple way to create an independant Poland, and give it control over only Warsaw. If I use independance which = POL in a German event, it liberates all historically polish provinces under German rule. No good.

So I thought : I must give control of Warsaw to a nation who I am sure will not be annexed during the game, and who will not be fighting on the field in ex-Poland. So I choose the Partisans.

The line control or secedeprovince which=REB works perfectly well. But, afterward, I can not make any event work with the "Partisan nation" that now appears on the map. The idea would have been to code independence or country = POL in a partisan event, and that would have done it. But nothing happens.

If I replace the Partisan by another in-game nation (change REB by SCH for example) all works fine. Except I dont like the idea to associate Switzerland with all liberations of nations in the world - and moreover Switzerland could be annexed in the game. Or, if I save and reload as the REB, I can do it manually as well.

Does someone know why the "Partisan nation" doesn't work like any other nation ? And how I could fix that issue ?

You could create a user-defined nation called "Polish Resistance" which has only Warsaw and is created by event, and move on from there.

After lengthy testings, it seems that the REB country (=partisans) is hardcoded not to work like the other countries. They can't receive events, foreign nations can't do diplo with them... Unless you personnaly control the Partisans as your in-game nation - and the standard game does not allow that.

Nevertheless, I found quite an idea to mod the uprising of Warsaw. The principle is to give control, in the same German event, of all the non-revolting provinces to the Partisans (i.e. all except Warsaw), then grant independence to Poland, then give all provinces back to Germany. Like :

control which = REB data = (all polish provinces but Warsaw)
independence which = POL
control which = GER data = (all polish provinces but Warsaw)

This has the enormous advantage that german divisions on polish provinces (except Warsaw) stay in place and won't be forced into the strat. redeploy pool, as they would in case of multiple secedeprovince commands.

The command prompt in the in-game event message looks weird, but oh does the result be neat :D
