issues installing

Well i decided i would install eu2 again after a long break of not playing it......when i put the disk in and i click install on the autorun, nothing happens then the comp just freezes up alot. It also happens if i try to click setup.exe in the disks directory. I have the same problem with any other games or programs ive tried to install. Im guessing there is a problem with the install wizard or something. Thansk for any help.

A recent issue with Victoria suggests the problem is with cetain DVD or CDRW drives not functioning properly with the install shield.

Try copying everything over to the HD and installing from there.

Well see, the thing is these cd drives have always worked, but your right, one is a cd-rw drive and the other is a dvd drive. How can i copy files onto hard drive?

Same way you would between Harddrives or folders.

Have you installed EU2 with those drives before?
Did you need a special file inorder to do it?
What publisher version of the game do you have?

Yes, ive installed eu2 on this drives many times before. I have an American strategy first version of the game. I didnt have to do anything special everything worked the way it shouldve.

Try installing from the Harddrive and let me know how it goes.

Ok, i tried to do the hardrive thing like u said but the computer freezes as soon as i start to move the setup.exe file! I dont get it!!!

Do you have anti-virus software of any kind running?

actually.....yes, mcafee anti-virus.

Turn it off completely and then try installing.

Thanks castellon, the anti-virus was the problem. When i shut it down the installation wokred perfectly normal. Thanks!
