So I just got a new monitor, it's bigger than my old one and when I went to boot up Stellaris I thought the screen looked awkward. Everything looked so much smaller. so I decided to play around with the graphics and the scaling of the UI.

Turns out that was a bit of a mistake. I accidentally made the resolution way too large and it was impossible to click on anything. I just barely managed to click out and change the resolution again from the launcher. But then my computer screen would turn to black before opening up stellaris. I eventually fixed this by making the game a borderless window that took up my entire monitor, making the screen resolution and frame rate the same as my monitor's. However some problems still persist.

For one the UI looks very pixelated. This is a problem I am noticing in other games as well, but the UI looks pixelated and ugly. I cranked it up to 1.8x so I can read it and click on the buttons but it still looks disgusting.

Another problem I am noticing is that some of the scroll wheels are broken. The one for the music player along with the resettlement tab for pops do not work and I have to rely on my mouse scroll wheel to move around.

What do I do? I am thinking about installing a mod to help solve some of these issues.

The UI having a pixelated look is, unfortunately, something that can't be helped when you use the UI scaling feature. The various UI assets of the game are bitmaps, not vector graphics. And when you start to scale bitmaps, the pixels inside the bitmap just get duplicated (or dropped, if you scale factor is less than 1) in both X and Y directions. The actual scaling technique used depends on how your graphics card and driver have implemented bitmap scaling.

Some UI scaling factors tend to give better results than others. Factors like 1.5 or 2.0 tend to have less pixel distortions than factors like 1.3

As for the scrollers. That sounds like a bug. You should probably file a bug report on that in the bug reporting sub forum.

I cannot seem to upload bug reports. It's asking for a screenshot and my attach files thing will only let me select .cok files. I cannot send any images at all and it requires me to send at least one. There is nothing I can do. Help!

You could try zipping it up first.
