In business they put deadlines on products in order to get a product out to market. The continual adding...editing...updating is self-defeating because your competitor will beat you to the punch.

The amazing people of CORE did an unbelievable job with HOI-1, but wow put out something...then re-submit updates as they are completed. CIV4 is around the corner, and HOI-2 is almost 2-years old!!! When will us...the huddled-masses be able to play something???

Time is not on your side.

If I might say something about this--I'm just a regular visitor, not an actual CORE member.

CORE isn't for profit, it's free. This is more like a piece of art than a business product. Granted, having a first release would build enthusiasm, and maybe give some criticism of what should be done to improve CORE. But whatever their management team decides to do, they should be acting to create the best product possible.

In the business world, it might well make sense to release a game first and patch it up second. Heck, HOI2 is a case in point with that! But I don't know that CORE would want to run through the same process. While I would like a speedy release of CORE2, I also want a quality item, and if I had to choose between the two, I'd rather have the quality. I don't need more junk on my computer, but I'd be glad to have a great mod for a game I enjoy.

The only thing that could possibly end CORE2 prematurely is if PE came out with HOI3, and I have my doubts thats coming even in the mid future. But I'm not going to debate HOI3. CORE is going to take time, but I for one can wait. Good things come to those who wait--I got HOI2 for $13. :)

What would you like to work on? MDow

An October release would be cool, I'm on R&R at the moment so I've got a bit of free time to throw around. No coding knowledge or any of that nerdy shit, however.

Every CORE member deserves far more praise than they ever get for the stirling work that they do in this field for free and out of their spare time. First of all mykill, what has CIV4 got to do with anything even remotely connected to the HoI2CORE. October would be cool, but if its takes longer, dont force it.
