It is possible for destroyed Papacy to be reestablished by another faith, but with a contradicting display.Description
If some character dismantles the Papacy, it can be subsequently reestablished by another faith sharing the same head, such as Insular. In this case the new head of faith will get the Papacy title (which will show the previously dismantled papacy in the history) - and they don't need to control any territories, like Latium duchy that "Restore the Papacy" decision would require. Moreover Catholicism window will state both "Current Head of Faith: (new leader)" and "Head of Faith: None"Steps to reproduce
