With patch 1.03b I've played a game a Two Sicilies. In the game the job to unite Italy was given to Sardinia, and that gave me an event which put -5 reliability on all land units.

Some years later I managed to unite Italy anyway, but discovered during the next wars that I still had a penalty to reliability, in the end I had to edit it out of the savegame.

There seems to lack an event that cancels the penality, if you manage to unite Italy anyway.

I think thats the point of the event - its supposed to lead to the creation of a united Italy and in your case you are fighting against that cause so you will be hampered by Italian nationalism indefintitely.

It would seem to be a little odd if the desire of the italian nation to unify (or more specifically the desire of your troops to fight against unification) disappeared after a set time.

But italy _has_ become unified, it just happened under my democratic rule rather than under the rule of the king of Sardinia-Piemonte allied with the evil frenchies.

I can live with that the event thinks that I am fighting against the unification of Italy, but when Italy has become unified the penaly should disappear.

Ooops - that is a bug!

It happened to me too, so we fixed in VIP.
