Well to cut the story short I have been always baffled of the Jagdpanzer IV armor value of 14 which is same as Panthers. But previously I thought that Jagdpanzer IV had "only" 60mm of frontal armor until it was upgraded in Autumn 1944 so armor value of 14 always seemed to me bit off. o_O

Well I finally found out that the Jagdpanzer IV frontal armor was boosted from 60mm to 80mm at some point in March-April 1944 (after some 120-150 were produced) and not when Jagdpanzer IV switched from L/48 gun to L/70 as I did previously though. So by Normandy battles the uparmored Jagdpanzer IV would had been the only type as Jagdpanzer IV that were in Normandy would had come straight from the factory pretty much. Any Jagdpanzer IV with the lower armor would had been already being deployed to Eastern Front.

Funny what you find out when you get bothered by something.

The Panther D and A got 80mm on the hull and 100mm at the turret, while the turret armor of the G was boosted up to 120mm. Why The Panther has the same FAV like the Jagdpanzer IV? Shouldn't the Panthers get a better FAV?

Well to be correct, 80mm hull armor was effectively around 120mm-130mm thick thanks to its sloping.

And minor detail is that vast majority of shot is likely hit hull rather then the turret in tank engaments.

And then ther is the moment where a OPEN TOP APC.. where u have to stand outside of its hull to fier the main 50call has a rating of 5AV so ist imune to 20mm fier~

pls dont act like AV makes sens anyway~

Did i mention it coms on vet2 so buffed to vet3 u can use it to push of Luchs tanks? Realisem bitcheeessss~ Better add som stabilizers i would say~

Eh, that depends quite a bit, after all most British/American crews were trained to shoot for the turret of a Panther or comparable tank. I am not sure if Soviet crews were taught the same, but I would presume some of them were. After all, in game we can tell that armor values are somewhat of a cross between turret and hull armor values.
For example...
M4A3 (W) 75mm
Frontal Glacis: 93mm
Turret Mantlet: 138mm
In-Game FAV Rating: 11

Panther D
Frontal Glacis: 139mm
Turret Mantlet: 100mm
In-Game FAV Rating: 12

Now for the Jadgpanzer IV I cannot tell if its armor is over-performing, since I lack adequate documents on this tank. But, I am sure some of you gents have information on it, and if anyone can provide some citation or such it would be greatly appreciated.

Well to be correct, this only applied to various 75mm armed tanks at close range because it was the only way they could possibly make a dent on the damn thing at the bocage by richoted. But if you had high velocity 76mm gun there was no need do to that. And Soviets on other hand had 85mm guns (and bigger!) could penetrate Panthers frontal armor at range of 500m so they basicaly made sure that some 85mm (or bigger) armed vehicles were always nearby when there was big cats around.

The issue is that tankers never truly have luxury to aim as the priority is to get the first shot off. So they generally aimed at the largest visible part of the tank (the hull) and fired until it was dead. And distance and optics also affected targeting and certainly did not allow being picky on where you wanted to hit.

And as note, armor values don't tell that much as how effective the armor is but rather it is a balance tool that can be changed.
