Whenever i try to launch the game a javascript error occurs. Ive seen other threads and followed them but they wont work. Even if i launch EU4 directly without the launcher, im able to get in, but as soon as i click play and try to start a new campaing the game crashes.
i have the epic games version.

That will be a launcher issue, not a game problem. But I'm not sure what could be causing it on your system! Please try these Windows repair tools:

  • .NET
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2698555/microsoft-net-framework-repair-tool-is-available

  • SCANNOW:

That must be an unrelated problem, as the launcher is not involved if you are running eu4.exe directly from file explorer.
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here. IF dxdiag.txt fails to attach here, rename it to dxdiag.log , or zip it up.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Thanks for answering!

The launcher would still show the same error after i tried the windows repair tools.

Here are the files you asked for, however i could not find the exceptions.log file...

the story behind this all:
I turned on a mod (inf custom nation points), but when i started the game i couldnt see my cursor. This has happened to me frequently before (in unmodded version) and ive seen other reports of this bug and its apparently due to the epic client, so i tried to launch eu4.exe directly from the explorer. And it worked!

But, probably due to the faulty mod i had activated (it was made for another version), the game crashes everytime i start a new campaign. And after this i couldnt open the paradox launcher anymore. The javascript error that i showed previously comes up everytime. Now ive obviously tried restarting my system and redowloading, but nothing changes.

But like i said i can still get into the game, just not start a new campaign, however i just found out that i could actually play my save files.

So in conclusion the other problem should be fixed if im just able to get into the launcher and turn off the mod.
I dont know, hopefully this helps with your understanding, thanks for your help.

On second thought, ill just reset my pc and try again. This all started because i probably messed something up by trying to fix the cursor bug. Ill reply again if it works :)
