While goofing around trying to fix my jerky mouse problems, I tried many things. I stumbled upon a fix that worked like a charm.

Inside DXDIAG, under the last tab (more help) happens to be an override option. This allows you to set your refresh rate, which for me (my monitor maximum) was 85 Hz. Once I set this, things FLY! I have to assume that the silly DX 8 code was defaulting to some stupid value that was dragging the game down the tubes.

Check your monitor's maximum and try it yourself. Be careful though, overdriving a monitor can result in a blown monitor. Do not do this unless you are positive that you know your specs.

Thanks Ray, I'll try it.

I upgraded to 128 MB Ram and that solved the Jerky mouse/screen problem most of the time, but occasionally, it reverts back temporarily (but for as long as an hour or so).

Hopefully this will take care of it the rest of the time.
