Hey Paradox folks...

I am a little dissappointed here... You guys made polls in which you asked which era we would prefer... Apparently they have not been taken into account. This is dissappointing indeed.
The same era? Darn!

But anyway, I am sure you will make the game great

AHA... are you saying that more games will come out?? Well are you?? hehehe? Come on... I am sure you are... Admit it. :D

PS: Check your PM's, so that I can get my custom shield :p
PS2: I am volunteer to moderate this GF :D

But do we really want another game like this?
How on earth will we have time for that!?!

-8 hours work/whatever.
-6 hours EU.
-6 hours new game.
-4 hours forum time.

When is the time for sleep or eating?
I'll have to cut down on work...

Or can Paradox make a deal with Odin about lengthening the day with, lets say, 10 hours? :D

Hey! New EU2 idea, what about Odinism as a possible religion? ;)

I agree.
I guess that the era right after the fall of the roman empire is good enough for a game.
I truely hope so that they will come with a new and really improved game and not a simple add-on like other games. I find it a bit alarming that it should take only 6 month to publish the new game.

Gee, I would have thought with all the complaints about the problems and niggly things such as why country x is not in this time period, why is (insert wish here) not in EU, etc. you would welcome an improved version of this period first!

Personally I'm delighted that this same period with a little extra tacked on the beginning and end is focussed on first. After all, don't we want the limitations of the first game addressed first?

Having said that I would have liked to have seen the game begin at about 1000 AD. This is a time where we can still expect roughly the same Europe to coalesce into major nations later, depending on player input of course. By starting the game in Roman times, depending on how you did, such as conquering the world with Carthage, it would totally screw up the Middle Ages section, making all the following nations hypothetical. So really I can understand picking a timeframe where particular cultures and nations were established and seeingit through to the end of the period when there again was a quantum shift in warfare, politics etc.

One thing I hope is added is a chance to start the GC at different dates, perhaps three or four, each reflacting the different situation on the ground at any time so that you could perhaps take charge of Pol during the height of the Deluge, or push a late clain in North America as the French in the Indian Wars etc.

Yes, I agree!

Despite it basically looking like an expansion of the original... it was a needed one. One that will make EU1 obsolete... if only they made it a giant downloadable patch... instead of a retail product! sigh....

Blade!

Hello neighbor,

I agree with you. I think there is enough to improve upon in EU1 which would warrant EU2. Not saying EU1 was anything close to dismal (actually this is the best /dip/milit/strat. game I have ever played) but some things had to be addressed beyond new patches.

If what I read comes about you probably won't want to play EU so that 6 hours can go to EU II.

Lord be praised! My first thought when I read the announcement was "Shit! What about Roma Universalis?" But then I remembered that the talk at the time of all the polls had been about what Paradox should do with the EU engine, with a EU2 a given. Glad to hear Patric confirm that EU2 doesn't mean there won't be other uses of the engine.

Personally, I cannot wait to get at the new diplomatic options. This will make the game so much more enjoyable to have options other than "conquer the world or dont conquer the world." And the potential to break up alliances alone will be worth it! It's not clear from the description, but I hope we will also be able to trade provinces outside of peace resolutions, as well. Imagine being able to sell a province you don't want!

So, Patric, I could use a job and you sound like you have your hands full.... :D

I wanted EU2 more than another game at another time, but rest well that I will buy any game paradox puts out that boasts this increadiable engine.

Im getting a new job and moving down to stockholm this fall, more money equals more games :)

I just want to ditto what everyone else has been saying. I still want to see a Roma Universalis or a Europa Crusades, but EU2 sounds really cool and I'm glad they decided to upgrade the current game.

I say the more EU related products the better.

Oh, and howabout including a built in scenario editor so we don't have do all this jimmying around with the files to create our own.

I was reading the anouncments and saw this:

[QOUTE]The game will span more than four hundred years[/QUOTE]

Then i thought:

Yeah! 450 yaers ore something!!! WOHO!!! Weee! Weee!

then this came
(1419-1820)

Damn 401 years... well i admitt it is more then 400 years but...... damn you, you smart advertisers ;)

I think this has been adressed, in the annoucement, they said something like it will be easy for players to design their scenarios.

yeah, i guess you're right, though, to be honest, its difficult to really tell what is going to be involved in the new one. Marketers sure know how to turn a phrase so you don't really know what they're trying to sell you.

Duh, I was referring to Vultures posts about more games.
The 'EU' i mentioned will of course be EU2.
The 'new'game' was another game with the EU engine... Roma Universalis or something...
