After installing the game (1.00) it will load to the opening menu, but after installing the 1.06 patch I get the following error after the "Loading ..." splashscreen when launching the main exe.

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b). Click OK to terminate the application."

- Uninstalled and reinstalled a dozen times (deleted reg keys)
- Downloaded the patch from a hand full of difference sources
- Updated the Video Drivers
- Log.Htm has the date/time of the 1.00 launch

I'm out of ideas, help!

Hi! Sorry to hear about your problem. Few things come to mind:
- When you start the patch, please doublecheck that the eastindia.exe is not running. The game is left running to the background when you press "yes" to the ingame update dialog and this causes some files not to update.
- Did you see the first post in the troubleshooting thread?

Hello, thanks for the reply! the exe's PID was not active when I applied the patch, I didn't use the game to locate the patch. The last half-dozen installs I didn't launch the exe till after I applied the patch. Unfortunately also disabling the visual themes in the compatibility settings didn't help. Also, I do not have DEP enabled for all apps.

Any other suggestions? Does the game have issues with Crossfire (duel video cards)?

Update: wtf! Same error when installed on my other machine!

I feel its having an issue authenticating my copy. Any thing change from 1.00 to 1.06 in the way it requestes data from the internet?

This is a strange one, your computers are very different from each other. Please see if you have this logfile: %ProgramData%\Paradox Interactive\East India Company\ImpulseReactor.log

You could also try to rename the sig.bin (in the previously mentioned folder) to something else and then try to run eastindia.exe.
