So, I have started a game of WiF recently. First of all, I have to say it is a very good and fun mod! The AI is very aggressive and will constantly counterattack, unlike in vanilla.

In my first test game I actually ended up fighting in Poland for a full month, and then getting stuck in France the following year. But in the second game, which I'm playing now, I managed to beat Poland in ~2 weeks, though it took until August 1940 before France had been brought down to its knees.

I then started my offensive on the Russians on 22 June. I only managed to conquer western Ukraine, eastern Poland and some of Lithuania before the winter kicked in, at which point I was driven back to the German border in the north, with the southern front barely holding.

I'm not sure what mistakes I did, but it felt like I never had "enough" units. I have seen some players say that they had ~30 panzer divisions by 22 June along with a good airforce, but I personally had to go with ~10 panzer divisions, 10-15 motorized and mechanized, perhaps ~130 infantry divs, an airforce of in total 15-20 planes.

Have I done something wrong with the production? One thing I came to think of at least was that consumer goods always seemed to have a high demand at ~80 when I only needed 20-40. Now, I play with auto economic sliders, and can't enjoy my game without them. But do I have to *shudder* manually micromanage the sliders to produce more?

Feel free to come with any other tips, such as what ministers I should use and so on.

If you are a good player you can just say how you do, and I will do my best to emulate that in my next game.

Anything that's of help is greatly appreciated!

I tried to load up as Russia, and in the beginning I need 38 CG, yet it allocates 72 to it with the auto slider! Something surely isn't right? I mean, that leaves IC for three factories...

Is it some bug or do the Russians start with dissent? I just hope I won't have to manually move the sliders 'cause that's a royal pain in the ass.

No hard feelings really, but according to type of your questions about sliders, I think you will never win unless you reduce difficulty settings bellow normal. This is one of hardest mod especially if you play historically.

If dissent is =0, and if sliders are set to auto, and if you do not have enough money flow, your sliders will naturally assign more Consumer Goods than it is needed for minimum CG for keeping dissent in check. That means you need to trade for money to have positive flow of money, so that auto-slider CG can be in line with dissent demand of CG.

If dissent is >0, then CG in auto-sliders will auto be above minimum demand for CG for reducing dissent.

Also, temporarily there is bug in presenting info about daily money flow, but I noticed that this does not influence daily money flow in any way.

Thanks for the answers, guys!

I suppose I will start trading more for cash. I know that the Swiss are decent for that during the war, but is there any other nation that tends to have plenty of cash?

It depends upon which nation you play with.

For Germany for example, USSR is pretty good trading partner before war. Also check Balkan countries and Scandinavia countries, Italy, Japan, Nat. China, Portugal, Nat. Spain. For example 1$ from Sweden, 0.5$ from Finland, 1$ from Romania, 3$ from USSR, 0.5$ from Yugoslavia, 0.5$ from Hungary, 2$ from Italy, 1$ from Nat. China, 0.5$ from Swiss, 1$ from Japan - it should be enough. Later when you are in war, trade with South America and Middle East although trade deals will be less favorable for you, but you do not have much choice.

For other nations, well - it can be fun to find good trading partners personally. Economy is part of this game right? :D

Do not forget that it is far more expensive that you get money over your own CG, than over trading supplies or whatever for money of foreign trading partners.

Things seem to work better now that I'm trading in money, but... How short do these trade agreements last really? I constantly have to make new ones to get the cashflow... Could it be that they are overwritten by other trade deals since I have auto trade on? I have popups for when trades are cancelled, but I have had several of my trades disappear without such a message appearing.
