I bought EU around Christmas and I like the game very much. The Swedish patch was released the same day and it surely correct a lot of things and even give me the possibility to play as Austria, as in the German version of the game. This is great.

EU has the potential to be one of the best strategy games ever for the PC and I'm sure that the guys at Paradox are doing a great job at making it even better. I have been complaining before on this board about the bugs even though I didn't have EU at the time. A friend of mine bought it and had a hard time even starting it. I wanted the game very badly and I just wanted Paradox to realize that a patch was badly needed. Obviously they were very aware of it :).

Well, I must says, even with the patch it has a lot of bugs. Some things even got worse. But instead of just complaining I thought I would report what I feel is the biggest problems with the game right now. I'm sure Paradox will make it work smoothly in time. But some of the bugs I haven't found on this board. These are some of those bugs.

I apologize for my bad English. Some frazes are translated into Swedish so that at least the people at Paradox will now what I'm talking about.

- In the 'Learn Scenario' (Lärlingsscenario) there is a problem with some text windows where you're supposed to answer Yes or Now or anything similar. Some of the Yes and Now buttons just states 'Line Unknown' ore something like that. It would also be a nice feature if the player had the opportunity to save the game in this scenario since EU crashes a lot (even without crashes I think it would be a nice feature for beginners).

This was not a problem in the original version.

-GAME CRASHES ALOT! Every time I start EU it exits to Windows. Most of the times my computer freezes and I have to restart it. When I've done this EU usually starts with no problems. At least until reasently. Now I have to restart the game two or three times to be able to play. Sometimes it takes me almost half an hour to start the game. I find it somewhat strange that EU always crashes the first time but if I restart the computer EU will run at first time (even though it has become worse lately).

I know crashes has been reported. But I don't think I've read that EU always crashes at startup. This is very annoying, and I thought I might as well report it. Also, it didn't seem to crash this much in the original version.

- At startup there is always a building sound. Lately this sound has been very loud, it almost makes my headphones burst.

- When I take a ship with an army close to a Territory that is 'Terra Incognita Permanent' or whatever it is called in English, and give the army the order to land things will go mad. The army will be 'the chosen' and there will be no way to reach to the ship. The ship is stuck forever in that space.

Of course there is no reason to land an army on a Territory that doesn't exist in the game but for a beginner this will be annoying. Not a big problem, but still a bug.

- Music sounds crappy sometimes!!! I'm not sure if this is a bug. One of the melodys sounds more like a buzz and I can here the music very quietly behind this buzzing sound. In my game this melody was changed in 1575 to another one. Maybe this will give Paradox a hint to wich melody I'm referring to.

I'm afraid this might be a problem with the CD pressing. A friend of mine has the same problem. Are there any other Swedes having the same problem?

By the way, I'm number two right now in my first game as Sweden. Well, I'm playing at an easy level so I better change that in my next game. It was far to easy to beat the crap out of Denmark-Norway and Russia. I wish I was attacked at least once in the game :-( And it would be great if annexed or concered States and Provinces would start rebelling. That would be a quite natural thing and it would make the game more realistic.

GAUTIGOTH, the Swedish Emperor.

The same goes for me, bought the game recently too, didnt start at all at first, only after a reinstallation and patching. this seems to be because of the copyprotction paradox uses. the sound is sometimes turned off completely (usually after playing for 2 hours or so). and a lot of crashes. actually, i never even once have come to the point where i myself turned it off!!! some minor bugs still there (all mentioned elsewhere, there should be a bugreport forum on this page.) IMHO: if they can fix the everpresent crashes, this is proberly the best strategy game ever...but all those crashes, man....
